  1. Hi guys! More stuff from Half Moon Bay. My friend found the bone in the same spot where I found the mammoth leg. I think I also found another tusk or tooth but not sure as it's a bit more porous than the one I found a few weeks ago. Thanks!!!

Is this a tooth or tusk?

Hi - Does anyone know what this is? It's smooth and heavy like rock. Thanks!
  3. Hi guys: Any idea what this is and are those teeth marks? Thanks!

    Any idea what this is?

Hi - Any idea what this weird bone is? Found it in the surf across from where some unidentified mammal bones were found in the cliffs. Thanks!
  5. Hi - I just lugged this bad boy home for two miles in the sand. It's like a rock. Approximately 1.5 feet and weighs around 30 lbs. Any idea what it is? I'm sure this one is not man made! Floods have washed down some interesting things from the cliffs recently. Thank you!!!

    Whale bone? Fresh or fossil?

Hi all: I found this yesterday at high tide and am not sure if it is a fossil or fresh bone? I found a larger one a few years ago that weighed less. Thoughts? Thanks! Oh, and I can flake off the white parts. The black is more like rock. Thanks again!IMG_0358.HEIC IMG_0358.HEIC IMG_0355.HEIC IMG_0354.HEIC IMG_0356.HEIC

    Are these scales or skin?

Hi all: First, thank you for this forum! I really appreciate the responses. If anyone can help identify this I'd appreciate it. There were huge storms in California that brought down a lot of fossils from the cliff. I think this is one. Thank you!
  8. Found this today near where I found the fossilized horse tooth in the cliffs. What do you think it is?
  9. HMBfossils

    Help identify this tooth?

This washed down a tall cliff after all the storms in California. Does anyone know what it is? Thx!

    Shell of some sort

So I found this rather large specimen embedded in rock near the cliffs of half moon bay on redondo beach, California. Found amongst barnacle scallop and clam fossils as well. I’m thinking ammonite or nautilus, or something of the like.

    Northern California potential fossil

Visited a state beach ( I completely forgot the name) south of half moon bay California, and found this inside one of the rocks in a tide pool. At first I thought it was a sea creature of some sort, but when I touched it, it was rock hard. I didn’t attempt to get it out because it was deep in the solid rock, and I probably wasn’t allowed to anyway. It looks like a lobster shell maybe, but I’m not sure what it is, or if it’s even a fossil. Any knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks, Conor

    Today's curious finds

Interesting little 'rocks' from today. 2 may be nothing, 2 I'm pretty sure about, and 2, seem to be imprints. Hope you guys can tell me. Again, Half Moon Bay. Also, how do I clean these?
  13. Hi all ! Thanks for Looking :-) Been a quiet observer on fossil forum for quite sometime... but now ready to reach out to the community for some help and advice on some recent finds. So here goes ! This one has some pretty notable characteristics and I thought someone should be able to pick up on them and help with an id. It was found at my friends house on the coastline of HMB. Any thoughts?
