Spiny Moroccan trilobite better photos

Hoya everyone I recently purchased this spiny trilobite from morroco and was wanting some help on its authenticity many thanks -
Out hunting on the Ram, came across this odd piece, my mind immediately jumped to a bone fragment of a large aquatic reptile, the holes in it are like nothing I've ever seen, and it feels lighter than a rock of similar size. So, I'm hopeful, any ideas or help would be awesome! Thanks guys!

Hey there - I found your forum after my wife discovered that we "accidentally" found a Columbian Mammoth molar while walking on the beach. I've been searching for information on how to preserve it and this forums seems like a HUGE wealth of information that I'm pouring over now. I've got some Butvar 76 on order and am picking up some acetone tomorrow as well. I'm going to be looking for information to ensure I'm not about to make a huge mistake with something that we accidentally found but now REALLY love and think is SO cool. It doesn't hurt that our 4.5 year old daughter is basically the rockstar of her pre-school class now that all of the kids know that she's got a mammoth tooth! Thanks in advance! I picture of the fossil we found since we're really proud of it!!- 8 replies

I’m new to TFF. From Allentown, PA. My 8 y/o son has become obsessed with fossils, particularly shark teeth. He’s asked for Meg teeth for Christmas two straight years. I’m trying my best to find ways to feed his interests besides just buying him presents. In late fall, we tried Big Brook in NJ...got two small, broken teeth and lots of squid pens. He recently asked for a trip to find shark teeth, so we are planning a trip in May to Calvert Cliffs. Since there is soooo much for me to learn, I figured it would be good to join this forum. While I won’t be able to contribute much knowledge, reading through the posts have been very insightful. If anyone has any advice to help my son find teeth and get hooked on this, please let me know. Happy fossil hunting, everyone!

Any chance this is a Chubutensis tooth? I bought it from a seller in Canada for cheap and the description only said it was a Meg from southeastern, USA. I'm no expert, but I don't think I see cusplets, but it's a thin tooth. It's about 1.5 inches. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello I'm interested in any insight as to what this may be. It was found today March 2021 in my back yard heavily wooded area while I was clearing a trail to ride small ATVs I raked through a ft of overburden and sticks etc revealing the dirt below and found half dozen stone edges protruding through the surface. In an effort to make the trail smooth I began to extract the stones using a spade type shovel after having dug out the stones I picked each one up to throw off the trail and when I grabbed this I realized it was not the same weight actually near weightless and hollow slight rattling noise coming from inside but clearly hollow. At first I thought it was a science project made from fiberglass but it appears to only have fiberous stringy stuff inside the shell portion the outer shell like layer is solid in texture and resembling ceramic look or guess thick egg shell I've only experience with bacon and egg eggs but it kinda does look like shell more than anything else I can think of. It was found in Stokes Bay Ontario Canada Lake Huron side but my place is inland few km not shoreline. It's about midway up the Bruce Peninsula. It was a maximum of ft below surface damp mossy soft soil area heavily treed and under a ft of overburden don't think anyone has been in this specific spot anytime recently as I was cutting the path out for first time. My thoughts are science project maybe? Some type large bird maybe? Or just odd thing fell from the sky lol? Not something I've seen before. Any help of course would be appreciated Jason

Lobopyge trilobite is it real?
Georgemckenzie posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hiya everyone I’m interested in buying a couple of trilobites on the same matrix and was wondering if the lobopyge trilobite was real as I’ve heard it’s a rarer species that’s commonly faked thanks for any help -
When looking on a muddy day in the maryland late cretaceous marine site. Found a small 2 inches 5-6 cm long bone. all help will be appreciated. I am not sure what bone it is, let alone what species. Like most bone from this site the surface texture is in general rough.

Hello all, Today I found two teeth and my girlfriend 1 tooth. Could anyone help us identifying the teeth? I thought Horse and Bison or Cow. But the teeth are quite big. And the big bone (second pic) what kind of animal is it?

San Antonio, Tx Here is another rock from my yard. I have a list off the items identified on here and I hope you can see where a beginner or someone refreshing may get confused. To me this rock has more than chert and limestone. The last picture looks like grey bacon.

My fossilized bivalves seem to be turning gold in some areas, and some parts have chipped off . Is this "pyrite disease"? Is it due to being on wooden shelving? I wouldn't say my climate is particularly humid. My great uncle gave these five to me when I was seven, so they are special and I would like to save them None of my other fossils or minerals are exhibiting these signs?

What is the best way to work sediment pieces without completely destroying everything? There are two spots in my backyard that my dog constantly digs at. Both of them are in different ares of my concrete porch, within about six feet of each other. Below is a piece that I removed recently.

Hello all! I went on a trip and have a large amount of crinoids. Is there a way to clean and prepare them for display? I have looked all across the internet to try to clean them, but my research has shown no results. Thanks !

This Is my first post. I am a amateur hunter from south Louisiana. I have had a lot of trouble finding fossils. I have found one chrinoid in a creek, but aside from coral, nothing has been found.I have found that the two prominent spots from the days of past have been covered long ago. I also realize I in a area with not a lot of potential for ground or creek fossils. I have done one trip, and found plenty there, but that was a long drive to Texas. I have even emailed people such as LSU and Alabama professors and geologists from Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee. Help please!

Hello again Fossil friends! I have another fossil I need help with. Found with other shell and coral fossils in a river shore in north eastern Kansas, most likely Pennsylvanian. It looks to be maybe a sponge with exterior and interior... structure? Couldn't figure this one out. Maybe someone with more knowledge can ID it for sure.

Hello everyone, I found these two pieces in Galveston, Texas and I am looking for someone to help me ID them. I am not well versed in fossils so I came to this site for help. Thanks!
