Possible coprolite with insect wing fossil? Upstate NY Hudson valley find
featherandbone posted a topic in Fossil ID
I found this in orange county, Hudson valley NY. The specimen is approximately 6 inches in diameter. It has little tunnel like holes in it and this ridged fossil. Could this be a coprolite? Is the fossil a wing, or could it be plant material? Thank you for your help! -
I was cleaning up my backyard and came across an interesting rock with shell imprints. Could these be actual fossils? or a school project gone wrong? I joined the forum to see if this is for real. I live a little less than a mile from the Hudson River. If this is real, can someone educate me on what I found? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

This was another interesting thing I found as a kid in my backyard. There are a few of these on the rock. And theyre definitely not bolts. It is not threading. They are layered rings.

Hello. I'm Robbie from NY. I got to the fossil identification forum before this one. Had much luck in my backyard at my first few days hunting and needed some identification. I'm extremely new to this. Hope to make friends and learn a lot. Todays find: any idea what that alien footprint might be?
