Hello, a few more Mosasaur jaw pieces that I am interested in. I can't say no to a Mosasaur. It's my fav marine reptile and one of my favorite extinct beasts. 1 -- Eremiasaurus -- from Ouled Abdoun Basin. 2 - Halisaurus -- Ouled Abdoun Basin -- This is my fav of the three. 3 - Prognathodon - Ouled Abdoun Basin. This one looks like the tooth has been repaired? I can't see anything signs that have cropped up on a few past jaws I've posted --- so hopefully, these three are all good and I can pop a bid in for the trio. Thanks for the help, as always.

Being sold as part of the bottom jaw of a Mosasaur--no species mentioned. From Khourigba, Morocco. 5CM high x 10cm long x 6 cm wide. To me, the jaw section seems legit bone with the photo showing the bone structure and the shattered roots of teeth, but is the whole tooth added or is it actually part of it? Thanks very much.

I know these are often composited, but if anyone can have a look, see how these are, that wpuld be great. I intend to get 1 globidens and one Mosasaurus Anceps. Ancepz I will put on post 2 1 - 15cm long from Benguerir 2 - 12 cm long --the different shading at the root, is that a sign the teeth are added? 3 - 10.5 cm

Sold as jaw section. From Kem Kem. 140mm long. Lower jaw. Dpesnt say if teeth are from the jaw or added. Anyone know if ID is correct? Will be nice alongside my spino verts. Thanks

Here is another jaw. It is offered as Halisaurus and is reportedly from Oued Zem of Morocco. It is 10.2" in length. Jaws are a common inquiry here and several members are frequently kind enough to give their experienced opinion of the posted fossils. I would find it interesting and perhaps instructive to the general Forum; if experienced respondents would provide as much detail as they can as to how they formulate their opinion (e.g. common responses such as "teeth may be added," "matrix is not original, etc.") The question I am posing is how are these opinions reached? What clues are utilized? The following photos are the sellers. I realize that any conclusions reached in this section of the Forum are impacted by the quality and completeness of the provided images. Please respond to this fossil with as much "detective" detail as you care to provide. Thanks.

I recently purchased a bag of micro gravel from Florida that had larger Pleistocene fossils added to it. Among the added Pleistocene fossils was this mandible. My guess is that it is skunk (Mephitis)? As you can see it measures about 3 cm in length. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For the first time in a while was able to get out to Big Brook today. My daughter and I found some pretty nice stuff. Nice sized Mako and partial jaw were my best finds. Not sure what kind of fish the jaw was from.

I've got five jaw fragments from the Kem Kem of which I think they are from crocodilians. Any ideas as to what genus or species these belong would be appriciated. 1. No idea what this jaw is from, but my best guess is some crocodilian. 2. I also don't know what this is but also probably some crocodilian. 3. This one has a hard layer of sediment covering it and it's missing the underside of the jaw. It looks a bit like the dented part of a Spinosaurus dentary but it's more likely also crocodilian. 4. Definitely crocodilian, has a typical croc texture (lots of dents). To me it looks like a right jugal with a part of the maxilla. 5. Also some crocodilian, resembles an Elosuchus jaw but it's pretty small so maybe a juvenile or some other croc. Have fun ID'ing!

Let’s try this again. Need some help identifying this tooth & jaw fragment I found in the peace river area. It has 1 perfect tooth with a second tooth on the opposite side split in half. Has me very stumped!

I recently bought this jaw and was wondering if someone can shed some light on it. Seller gave some info on it, but when I received it it’s a little different than expected. Seller states it was found in Iowa. It also seems very light if it’s fossilized, I have no experience with fossil bone so I’m not sure what to expect. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Can anyone help me ID this shark jaw? Purchased on Craigslist, it was found at an estate sale in upstate NY. Early research has me suspicious it's from the Carcharhinidae family, but I would love an expert's guidance and a specific species name if possible. Thanks in advance, B

Hi Everyone, I’ve been living down in Texas with my family instead of my usual location in Missouri, and had a free day to go to the North Sulfur River (NSR). I had no idea my family lived so close to such a fun location to fossil hunt. I had a great time and have been trying to find the identity of a few of the fossils I found. I know identification posts are generally individually done, but since they were all found at the same location I decided to group them into one post. Hope that's not too against forum rules. Anyway, I’d love y'alls thoughts on what they might be! All the following were found in the North Sulfur River – Ozan formation. Number 1: This seems to me to be a jaw bone, but beyond that I'm unsure. Two possible growth teeth. What do you think? Number two: Are these bacculites end pieces? Number 3: I saw in another post these were identified as mammoth enamel. Think that is what they are or just something geological? I have a few more I'll include in a following post...

I found this down in the peace river Florida area and it’s got me stumped. 1 perfect tooth in the jaw section intact. A second tooth right behind it that looks split in half. Any ideas?

Hi there Amateur Dinobot again, with the self isolation, I had some time to look back at a couple of my purchases. They were bought a couple years ago on a popular auction site. The sellers did not have a lot of reviews so it felt like a bit of a gamble. The first on I was told was a deltadromeus partial jaw and was found in Norther Africa in 2015. The other I was told was an Ankylosaurus scute. I dont recall if the seller provided any further detail but he is no longer selling items. Thanks for the input! Can anyone tell me what this is? All I know is it’s from Kem Kem. My best guess is some type of crocodile. What else even has all those nerve channels besides crocs and the spinosaur family? I think the shape(top&bottom view) looks similar to pancake croc jaws, and I’m pretty sure there were a number of others with that type of jaw, but I don’t know when and where they were, sooooo.......does anyone have any thoughts about it?

Stuck home, sorting hundreds of ziplock bags from last year. WOW, how did I forget these. A toebone that I think is predator and if so, a robust predator --- This is a toebone, think of the size of yours. and in the same Ziplock, a jaw segment. As far as I can tell the width of the Jaw around the alveoli is unbroken. Who recognizes this m2-m3?

Found this small (presumably fish) bone fragment last weekend while at my usual Pennsylvanian (Upper Carboniferous) limestone roadcut in northern IL. Not really sure what to make of it. It's small, not even 1cm long. My only guesses were either a partial jaw of some sort, or maybe a small fragment of a spine. Any thoughts? @jdp @Fossildude19 @deutscheben

Hi there i continue to maintain my very very amateur status but I've been trying to read the different threads on here regarding spinosaurus jaw and what I gathered so far is pitting is reflective of croc jaw and if it only has a single socket or also makes it difficult to determine if its spino or croc. I found this one on our favorite auction site and wanted to get your opinion
