Just came across this piece in a box of loose concretions. It has the look of an insect wing, but believe it might be a Neuropteris inflata leaf. What do you think? @RCFossils @deutscheben @stats @connorp @Mark Kmiecik Sorry for the darker pics, but this is a real black concretion.

This Mazon Creek nodule arrived for me today. Label said : Polychaete worm - Astreptoscolex anasilosus Had a look in my copy of Wittry and it doesn’t quite seem to match. Thoughts ?

@RCFossils @Mark Kmiecik @connorp @deutscheben @stats Looking for thoughts on these few pieces- It looks a bit like the barnacle Illilepas damrowi Thinking possible Reticulomedusa greenei This next one is odd looking and the only thing that I can think of is an Octomedusa pieckorum. Lastly, looking for something on this bivalve.

Yesterday at work, I ran into a co-worker who knew that I collected fossils. He had me meet him at an area on his property in Coal City that was having some construction taking place and advised me that he thought concretions were there. I started looking around and found a number of them. Unfortunately, this area will covered over today. Below are a couple that I found in situ. I found this big concretions opened and face down. I rubbed it on my pants leg and thought it might be an Asterophyllites, but with my eyes and they way the dirt was moved by my rubbing it, I could not tell. The first thing that I did when I got home was to clean it and this beautiful piece emerged, I wish I had the other half. The fossil it’s self it 5” long and I have never found one like it before. I sent out a couple PM’s for an ID and I am just waiting. I did not get home until after 8 pm and that stopped me from posting more pictures from the collection I just purchased. But actual fossil collecting takes precedent. I also found these two Neuropteris pieces that were opened- this is what they looked like after cleaning. I also have this piece in the car that I just took a picture of- it looks like coprolite, but I will have to clean it up.

These are all close to the same size -- about 1.5 inches (4.25 cm) in the greatest dimension.

I have two odd pieces tonight and was wondering if anyone has an idea. @RCFossils @deutscheben @Mark Kmiecik @stats @connorp This first one it odd looking, I am thinking fauna, but wonder if it is a seed. This next piece reminds me of an insect, but I think it might be a worm.

I had this Mazon Creek arthropod open recently. It was collected from the Braidwood fauna (freshwater/terrestrial), so initially I thought this was just a tiny syncarid shrimp as they are the most common arthropod to find here. However looking at it closer, I'm not so sure and was hoping for a second opinion. In particular, the legs are short and spiny and do not look like shrimp legs to me, although I may be wrong. Here are images of the positive and negative sides of the "head", middle, and rear, respectively. I put "head" in quotes because I can't tell if this is the head of the animal, or if it continues more into the concretion. @RCFossils @Nimravis @Mark Kmiecik @deutscheben @stats @bigred97 @flipper559 Any thoughts are appreciated.

@connorp @deutscheben @Mark Kmiecik @RCFossils Here are a few pieces that I am looking for ID’s on- I believe this first two pieces may be Mariopteris, if yes, what species? I have seen something like this before, but cannot remember where, I am thinking some type of seed? Lastly, I am looking for an ID on this poorly preserved, bushy looking worm. I was first thinking Palaeocampa anthrax, but it just does not seem correct.
