I love photographing my fossils. Almost as much as finding them! Almost, I said! But i have been stymied by lack of good quality cameras. I have a nice little point and shoot NIkon Coolpix which does pretty good most of the time. but it does not allow for good photos of the little stuff unless it is in full sunlight. But I like to control the lighting on my photos to minimize shadows. So I borrowed my mom's Canon Rebel and a fancy lens but that was just too over the top for me and it still did not get the close ups I wanted. Short of ponying up lots of money for a macro lens, I did some research on Digital Microscopes with camera or at least capture options. I saw that a few people on the Forum had used the Celestron and I have to say , the price was right. For just a tad over $100, I got the Digital Microscope Pro with a 5 MP photo capture. While it is not exactly Pro quality, it is definitely allowing me to get better more detailed shots of my littles. I am having so much fun!! So I'll be posting pics as I process them! All of these are 1/2 inch or smaller except the Mariella. All collected in Texas. Echionid Leptosalenia mexicana 1/2 inch Unknown Ammonite : 1/4 inch Echinoid Loriolia 1/2 inch Echinoid Spine 1/2 inch Shark Tooth Ptychodus 1/4 inch Echinoid Pygopyrina hancockensis 1/2 inch Trilobite 1/4 inch Ammonite Mariella 1 inch Algea Porocystis globularis 1/2 inch Gastropod Turritella 1/2 inch

I recently received some Blue Hill Shale matrix from a fellow forum member to break down and search for micro and mini teeth. After the second break down cycle I found this tooth that I am trying to get a positive ID for. It has been suggested Psuedocorax or possibly a symphyseal by another forum member. Any thoughts?
