Hello. I was wondering if someone could identify this vertebrae. It originates from the Kem Kem Basin of Morocco. I don't have much else information on it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all, here are more pliosaur teeth questions from me.. these are from the Asfla Goulmima Morroco Cretaceouds turonien. I'm fairly certain the stubby one is pliosaur but seeing as I've been mistaken more than once, I'd like to ask here. I think the slender is plesiosaur, but again.. I'd like for people with more knowledge than me to pitch in

Hello, im interested in this jaw. How does it look for restoration? From Oued Zem, 38cm x 23cm. Thanks for the help

Hey guys! While on vacation my brother nephew and I wondered into a fossil shop and I helped them pick out a nice tooth and jaw from a mosasaur which I identified as Mosasaurus beaugei. My question is, is it a composite or a partial jaw with tooth? I'm leaning towards composite, but I wanted a second opinion. Don't worry about my nephew, he's aware it might be a composite and is THRILLED with it either way and it wasn't expensive. Quarter is for scale. Thanks!

Here is a 7 cm long tooth, claimed to be pliosaur. What do people here think? It's from Morocco, unsure where specifically. @pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon

Hi, I'm in Morocco and I read a couple of posts about the ambivalence of stromatolites. I bought one of the ones which appears not to be and resembles a desert rose, but I also went out back with a seller and spotted what I believe to be a genuine one. Any thoughts?

Moroccan Parotodus parasymphyseal and Cretolamna biauriculata?
ThePhysicist posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi y'all, I picked these shark teeth up from a local rock shop. The first is definitely a symphyseal/parasymphyseal tooth but I'm not sure if it's from an Eocene Parotodus or Otodus. I lean towards Parotodus because of the narrow crown and its significant curvature. The second I think is a Cretolamna biauriculata. The symphyseal is about an inch ~ 2 cm in length. @siteseer@Al Dente@MarcoSr@Untitled Parotodus sp.?: Cretolamna biauriculata?:- 4 replies

Hello. My husband found this at a garage sale, sometime last year. We have been told that this may be an Orthocera. If anyone would help us ID it and even perhaps what it may be worth, we would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance for the help in this matter. Violet

I recently rescued several trilobites from a dusty cardboard box at an estate sale. The orange trilobite was unlabeled and a little over 3.5 inches long. The tan colored trilobite is 1.25 inches long and was labeled as “Canada Trilobite”. I realize it isn’t much to go on, but was hoping someone could provide a little more information if at all possible.

Hi all, I've been offered these two teeth that I've been told are pliosaur teeth. They're from Morocco. They must have a fair amount of repairs due to the glued matrix and cracks etc, but do they look legitimate? The shape looks like pliosaur to me

Moroccan Trilobite Scabriscutellum developmentally abnormal pygidium
Biotalker posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
Something caught my eye at the cheap table of trilobites at a Moroccan vender at a past fossil show. There were several Scabriscutellum of mediocre quality but I bought two. You can see them here. I am pretty certain these fossils are legit. One seems to have to have a clear cleft in the pygidium. There is even a small overlap of one pygidial "lobe" over the other. This is the first time I have seen such a "dramatic" mutation. I would guess that it is far more likely to be a developmental issue rather then a genetic mutation. The cleft trilobite obviously survived to its current size just fine (both approx. 4cm or 1.5 inches long). What do you think? Has anyone seen similar mutations within a species?- 9 replies

Hello, I found these in a bowl of Otodus obliquus teeth in a jersey shore gift shop. I’m assuming they’re from Morocco. The serrations tell me they’re something different but I don’t know what. Any ideas?

Hello, thoughts on this? It is described as theropod. From the El Mers Group. Boulmane Province Jurassic. 1.25 inches. Seller says the tip might be repaired. Now, is it as described--location wise? Apparently there is a Kem-Kem related Cretaceous deposit also in the Atlas Mountains, so some teeth described as Jurassic actually aren't? So, is this a Jurassic one, and can anyone possibly narrow it down to a more specific species? Also, any signs of fakeness or restoration? there is a fair bit of matrix on, which I know is a red flag with Kem Kem fossils. But is it the same with El Mers? Thanks for the help

Hi! I've been eyeing these supposed Abelisaurid teeth from Morocco (Kem Kem beds?), but I'm unsure if they are what they're labelled as. Are these two Abelisaur teeth? Or are do they belong to another theropod in the formation? (Mostly being confused with how one differentiates KK "raptor" teeth from true abelisaur teeth) Tooth A: Images 1 to 4 Tooth B: Images 5 to 8 I've read @Troodon's fantastic guide to Kem Kem teeth. However, as a very amateur fossil collector, I'm only able to identify but the only feature I am able to identify as abelisaurid is the mesial side being curved, and the distal side being straight (especially clear on Tooth A). Hi all, I'm new here. Would love your help identifying this beautiful set of fossils. I believe they are from Morocco. Any clues? Thanks so much! They are on the heavy side: 15 grams / 1 inch wide / 1" thick on the largest for the smallest 54 grams / 2 inches wide base / 1" thick on the largest. Maybe iron-heavy concretions?

This time I've attempted a portion of a Scyphocrinites elegans crinoid plate which is a well-known and frequently available species from Morocco. I picked this one up for a song a couple of years ago. This took quite a while to complete.

Was purchased as an Elasmosaurus vertabrae from Morocco 5.91" x 6.19" I found one similar online but the one I acquired seems to be a little more on the flat side. One of the processes has been repaired and seems to be stabilized. If it is indeed from an Elasmosaur, could it just be from a different section of the spine and is why it has a flatter profile? If so, what section could it be from? I'm just trying to get all the information on it that I can. The last three pics will be of the one I found online. Thank you in advance!
