  3. A new paper is available online: Susannah C.R. Maidment; Thomas J. Raven; Driss Ouarhache; Paul M. Barrett (2019). North Africa's first stegosaur: Implications for Gondwanan thyreophoran dinosaur diversity. Gondwana Research. in press. doi:10.1016/j.gr.2019.07.007. Adratiklit is significant as the oldest stegosaur from Africa and the second valid stegosaur from the Bajocian-Bathonian interval, considering that Isaberrysaura has been recently classified as a stegosaur given its mix of stegosaurian and neornithischian traits. If you aren't aware, the Xiashaximiao and Shangshaximiao Formations that have yielded Chungkingosaurus, Gigantspinosaurus, Yingshanosaurus, Huayangosaurus, Chialingosaurus, and Tuojiangosaurus are now considered to be Oxfordian-Kimmeridgian in age. By the way, is there a copy of the paper I could look at?

What kind of fish/shark might this be?

Saw these at a fossil shop, and as far as I can figure they look like fish bones with some shark teeth and mosasaur teeth here and there. They’re from Morocco I think. Any thoughts?

    Authentic Moroccan Trilobites?

Real? Fake? 50/50? (The first one looks most suspect to me, especially the midsection.)

    What mosasaurus is it ?

What mosasaurus is it? I bought it as Globidens phosphaticus but I find the bone is from another kind of Mosasaurus. And the seller stick them together. Can someone tell me what specie does the bone belong to? Thanks. Picture 3 is what it looks like at the begining.
  7. Can anybody tell what this vertebra is from? I believe it's from Kem Kem. *would this be a rib cage vert?

I have this crocodile tooth from Morocco Kem Kem Beds and was hoping if somenone could tell the species
  9. Hey guys, A friend of mine just bought this turtle skull from Khouriba, Morocco and was wondering if it had any reparations/restorations or fake parts. There is one eye socket considerably larger than the other one but I don’t quite know what it means. I don’t see any very obvious red flags but this type of fossil is very often faked. What do you guys think? Here are some pics. Thank you for any input Regards.
  10. I've been wavering back and forth as to whether this is a Carcharodontosaurid tooth, or possibly something else? The serration shape doesn't immediately scream Carch to me, and the mesial carina extending 2/3 down the mesial face would usually exclude abelisaurids from the mix (along with the concave distal edge). There does appear to also be a "pinch" at the base, judging by the lighting in the photo and what little can be seen of the cross section (unfortunately, this is the only photo available). Any input would be great to help me put this one to bed!

    Kem Kem Beds questions.

Hello all, Like if told in a post last year, I have to make an essay for school by the end of the year. My subject is 'the paleodiversity of the Kem Kem beds' (but in dutch ofcourse). Now I have a few questions where I can't find an answer on. There might follow more question throughout the year. - Is there any Bahariasaurus species officially recorded at the Kem Kem Beds? I didn't find any paper on them from the Kem Kem so I assume they are only use commercially. Only described in the Bahariya formation in Egypt I guess? - Does anyone know what a Spinosaurus aegyptiacus premax tooth looks like? - I made a species list with all the species I found from the Ifezouane fm. and Aoufous fm. (I don't work on the Akrabou fm.). Does it looks complete or do you know any gaps? Or are there any names that are not longer used? Dinosauria: - Deltadromeus agilis - Rebbachisaurus garasbae - Carcharodontosaurus saharicus - Sauroniops pachytholus - Spinosaurus aegyptiacus - Sigilmassasaurus brevicollis - Dromaeosauridae indet. - Titanosauridae indet. - Abelisauridae indet. Crocodyliformes: - Aegisuchus witmeri - Araripesuchus rattoides - Elosuchus cherifiensis - Hamadasuchus rebouli - Kemkemia auditorei - Laganosuchus maghrebensis - Lavocatchampsa sigogneaurusselae Testudines: - Dirqadim schaefferi - Galianemys emringeri - Galianemys whitei - Hadadachelys escuilliei - Araripemys sp. Pisces: - Neoceratodus africanus - Ceratodus humei - Onchoprisits numidus - Dentilepisosteus kemkemensis - Distobatus nutiae - Calamopleurus africanus - Obaichthys africanus - Stromerichthys aethiopicus - Oniichthys falipoui - Aidachar pankowskii - cf. Bawitius sp. - Hybodontidae indet. - Mawsonia lavocati - Asteracanthus aegyptiacus - Tribodus sp. - Lissodus sp. - Serratolamna amonensis - Cretoxyrhindidae indet. - Marckgrafia lybica - Arganodus tiguidiensis - Lepidotus pankowskii - Concavotectum moroccensis - cf. Trilobite id

Hello again, I have bought a lot of fossils, but don't know all of their id's. So I would love it if someone could help me with my problem. Here is a little trilobite I bought at Magic Minerals near Cape Town, SA. It is just under two centimeters long.
  16. Following the debate about whether spinosaurus was quadruped and could actually swim and if it was bipedal and couldn't I came across a theory that S. aegyptiacus was bipedal and S. morrocanus was quadrupedal what are your thoughts on these theories?
  17. Hi all, i have seen some trilobites and i'm sure they are real but there are any restoration on them?

  20. I just bought 2 shark teeth , sellers said they are both from Morocco. Can you guys help me identify the shark species. The bigger one , is this from Megalodon ? Size: 5 * 4.5 cm Front view Back view Side view and the necklace one Size: 3 * 1.8 cm Front view Back view
  21. I've come across this theropod tooth from Morocco online. I strongly think it's Carcharodontosaurid, but the colouration and general shape doesn't seem to be too far off from what I've seen of Chenanisaurus (mainly looking at photos of @Troodon's). Just to rule out the chance that it does come from the phosphate mines, could anyone provide any input one way or another? The photos provided are the only ones available, I'm afraid. Tooth measures: 4cm.
  22. I was browsing online and found this tooth for sale. The seller says it belongs to hainosaurus and that it is from Ouled Abdoun, Morocco. I was wondering if this tooth was real and if it had any restoration to it. Also, can anyone verify the species? Thank you.

    Phalanx bone ID needed. Raptor?

Hey guys. I recently acquired this nice phalanx bone but I don’t know what it could be from... Originally was thinking raptor ( dromaeosaurid ) but I’m not sure. Any ideas? 35 mm, Kem Kem, Morocco. Thank you for the input . Regards
  24. Ok so have recently arrived back from Morocco a good friend over there said he would meet up with me in goulmima and which we spent a good number of days breaking open rocks finding ammonites fish remains gastropods reptiles all good stuff and was beautiful camping out there, but I am shifting topic here. I made a contact last time regarding jurassic fossil remains so this time I divulged from the usual kem kem beds (however ended up digging them in a lesser known location close to goulmima) when I arrived there a ton of jurassic bones where present some easily identifiable as sauropod vertebrae, femur ( yes absolutely massive) digit 1 claw but two vertebrae I purchased where not associated with any of the other finds and I am needing a little help. The first one and pictures attached in this section are one I am currently prepping the process section is elongated after the neural spine canal and is approximately 1.3 times the size of the Centrum with one side being slightly concave and the other being flat. Again it might be hard to see the bone as this is being prepped now currently but to my eyes has similarities to a stegosaurus vertebrae. This vert I believe to be dorsal is 10.5 inches tall the centrum at it's largest point is 4.2 inches wide and the depth would be 4
  25. hafa adai, I'd really like to buy one or two of those detailed trilobites with spines, appendages and all, either Russian or Moroccan. I see prices all over the map, and have observed a few really bad fakes. I'm sure that there are also a lot of really good fakes (hence the wild price differences). Can anyone recommend a checklist/things to look for and/or a reputable dealer (preferably one that doesn't charge mortgage-level prices)? I don't want to keep bothering folks with repeated queries of Is this one good?" "How about this one?" I've read a number of posts in this form, and they tend to refer to individual specimens. I"m looking more for something that I can save to my HD and refer to while I"m shopping online. thank you in advance, hemi
