Hello everybody I see non specific mosasaur teeth from morocco all the time but what if I want to purchase a Mosasaurus tooth? How can I tell the differance? The following image is labeled as mosasaurus but how do I know that is true? Thank you

Bought this bone from a private collector some years back. It's a big chevron(?) bone from an unidentified creature, found in the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. Anyone who would have a guess at what this could be from? It's obviously some big creature with a chevron bone at that size, so perhaps a large dinosaur or crocodile of some sort?

Hello, I am currently trying to label all of my fossil collection. I bought these fossil clams a few years ago, and I am wondering if any of y’all know more information about these clams. All the information I have is that they are from the Dakhla region in Morocco, and probably Eocene in age.

I picked this up at a market stall in Fes this week. No information other than it is from South of me in Morocco. Because I thought it was sweet and it has a cracking bryozoan around the eyes (which are sadly broken) I think it looks like Devonian matrix and is a Phacopid? Phacops speculator? It is about 6 cm long. (straight line, not including the curve over) @piranha And anyone got any ideas re the bryozoa?

So I had been browsing for some new fossils, and stumbled over a nice Moroccan fossil on a seemingly american website. And they're selling this (almost fantastic) fossil, of a part of a skull, allegedly from either a Carcharodontosaurus or a Deltadromeus (Most likely not a delta). But is it legit?

Taxonomy from Khalloufi et al. 2010. So far this fish was only known from Ein Yabrud, Ramallah. Description by Khalloufi et al. 2010, p. 47: "The diamond-shaped body of ca. 70mm in standard length is almost twice higher than long (the standard length represents 51% of the total depth). The axial skeleton comprises 33-34 vertebrae, with abdominalcentra anteroposteriorly constricted. The last abdominal vertebrae possess elongated parapophyses which support small ribs. The posterior predorsal scutes have elongated lateral wings, and the last scute is claw-shaped. The ventral scute series is formed by about 35 scutes with very elongated lateral wings. A friend of mine(yes, it really is a friend, not just me lol)apparently got these in a box of stuff, and they were labeled as being from mosasaurs. He asked if they were coprolites, but i don't know exactly how they were described. I told him no, I don't think any coprolites would be so smooth, even, and without any imperfections(I'm sure there are some like that out there, but that must be pretty rare. A random group of coprolites aren't going to all be like that, I'd imagine). I told him I don't really know and that id ask, but my best guess would be either gastroliths, or nodules. I don't think mosasaurs have gastroliths, but plesiosaurs do, and the ID of mosasaur seems bunk anyway, no matter what they are. As far as nodules, I don't know if nodules are found in that kind of site, so yeah......does anyone have any idea? Oh yeah, they're from Khouribga, Morocco.

Moroccan trilobite pair

Hi all, Saw this trilobite pair up on auction. Does it seem authentic? Maybe the spines have been added on (or sculpted on)? Also do you think that the two trilobites were found together like this, or is one of them added to the block? These are all the pictures given, and there is no way to contact the seller. Hopefully the pictures are good enough! Thanks in advance, Max

Authentic Moroccan Trilo?

Hi all, Saw this trilobite up for auction, I was wondering how authentic it was? I know that Moroccan trilo's should often be bought carefully, but I don't know how to recognize fakes from real ones. These are all the pictures provided, and I can't see any way to contact the seller. But the pictures still seem decent, so I think (and hope) it is enough. Thanks in advance! Max

In case anyone's interested, there are two rather nice quadrate skull bones from a Spinosaurus for sale on our favourite auction site. These are definitely quadrate bones from a theropod. And I'm fairly sure they are from Spinosaurus aegyptiacus as well as the morphology is very consistent. Note that the bones are upside down in the photo. It seems it's both a left and right bone. Though I doubt these are associated.

Bought this a year ago. Assumed the little bit of detail in the eyes meant it was authentic, but I'm not sure anymore. Seems like the spines are fabricated at the very least. Would love opinions since I'm still pretty green.

I've bee looking around at different vertebrae but cannot seem to find a match any ideas? A rough guide in the right direction as to what it looks like it could be from? ventral to dorsal measurment are 12mm anterior to posterior is 15mm and lateral left to right side is 21mm Thanks in advance.

Hi, just wanted to check if this fossil for sale is likely to be from a theropod. It is a ilium pelvic bone just under 20 inches in length. From what i can gather, theropod ilium's are wide and thin?. Thanks.

Hello I am not sure whether the entirety of this fossil is real as it was brought in Morocco where a lot of fossils are fake and I noticed the gap between the crown and the root is filled with the same stuff around the fossil. I think the crown is real but maybe the matrix and root have just been added on? Thanks
