Hi. Friend of my got this trilobite, but I know these kind are often faked. I have never looked for this type of triobites so I was hoping someone would have more experience with these. Any opinions? Thank you.

I have (finally) got around to going through my Moroccan phosphate shark teeth. I've attempted to identify them but I am still not particularly confident at identifying fossils so I thought I'd run it by the experts first. All the teeth are (supposed to be) from the Eocene, save 4 which is (supposed to be) from the Cretaceous. I attempted to label the images with my proposed identifications but there wasn't enough space for all of them so I'll list them all here: 1. Ginglymostomatid (Nebrius?) 2-3. Hemipristis? 4. Unsure 5. Pristid/Sawfish (Pristis?) 6. Otodontid (Cretalamna?) 7-10. Odontaspidid The lighting is also quite poor on these images as the enamel on the teeth is very reflective and they show up as amorphous white blobs if it's too bright as my phone camera is by no means the best. I recently spotted a Palaeophis vertebra for sale, labelled as having come from a Palaeophis typhaeus. The vertebra was found in the Ouled Abdoun basin in Morocco and is Ypresian in age. I have only every seen Palaeophis maghrebianus vertebrae for sale, so I was wondering if this was a mistaken ID. Thanks in advance for confirmation Othniel

Hello, Can you help me with ID of this tooth? I am not sure whether it could be Carcharodontosaurid or something else? I bought it at a fossil show, Its supposed to be from Morocco, Kem kem group, Taouz. Scale is in cm. Measurements: CH - 2,8cm, CBL - 1,6cm, AL - 3cm and CBW - 0,8cm. Thanks in advance.

I recently saw this tooth for sale identified as a Deltadromeus, but it looks suspiciously similar to teeth sold as "indeterminate Abelisaurid", mine included, so I thought it would be worth checking. The seller has stated the tooth is "17mm x 10mm at the widest points". No other measurements were given. Thanks in advance for any guidance Othniel

At first glance it appears to be well prepped etc. with no signs of obvious fractures etc. As one should be on guard when purchasing Moroccan material, I would like to seek counsel / opinions / another pair of eyes regarding this specimen which I have been offered. Hi Everyone! I acquired this Kem Kem gem a few months ago. I'm pretty certain that it's a Spinosaurid Caudal, which would have been really cool by itself since it's one of the better ones I've seen, but what really sticks out (or in) is a very large unique looking hole on one side. The bone is about 9.6 cm long and hole by itself is roughly 3.5 x 2.7 cm wide and 1.3 cm deep. Damage on Kem Kem material isn't uncommon, but the bone surface flows into the hole as if it was made before fossilization. The big question I have (aside from a second opinion that I'm not just seeing something much cooler than what is there), is pre or post mortem and potential causes. I don't think it's a bite mark. While I have seen really big Spino teeth with that cross section there isn't any damage to the other side and I feel like a tooth that size would punch a hole straight through the bone rather than just leave a 1.3 cm deep hole. Same with potential injury from a large spike of some sort. I don't think it's cancer since there's no excess growth. The main thing that comes to my mind is a really nasty infection with a large abscess, potentially caused by a minor injury that got infected (Spinos loved swimming in some nasty swamps after all). But as with any claim like that it's pretty important to seek out a second opinion. So what do you all think? Any insight is appreciated as always!

Hey there, It‘s my first post in this Forum, so it‘s time to say hello. My name is Philipp, born in Germany/Saxony. I grew up in the Erzgebirge and was surrounded and fascinated by mines and minerals when i grew up. On my current travel through Europe and Morocco the passion for Minerals and Fossils flamed up again. It’s hard for me not to think every moment about where I‘m going fossil/mineral hunting again so i don‘t annoy my girlfriend tooooo much ;) I’m currently in Morocco for a 3 Month trip to search for fossils and minerals. I was reading about the Mosasaur teeth in the Oil Shale Deposits near Bakrit/Timahdite and about some members visiting this area. I was wondering if someone can give me some locations where these teeth can be found. Looking forward to your answers Philipp

Hello, I have this mortality plate from Tafraoute, Morocco and it's from the ordovician. And I have seen similar online, but nobody seems to know the species of the trilobites. Is it possible to have some more info than unidentified trilobite? I tried to take some photos where the cephalon, thorax and pygidium can be seen. Thanks!!!

From morocco My guess is kem kem beds. 2 inch with signs of feeding wear. I would guess no restoration.

Hello, I saw this while looking for affordable trilobites. The seller said that the trilobite is around 1.5 inches long. To me it looks like the real deal, however, I am no expert, and would like some confirmation.
