Is there anything wrong about this Spinosaurus tooth ?

Hello, I saw this Spinosaurus tooth on auction today and wondered If its real or fake. I love the clean root on it and the sice, but im not sure about the tip tho. Looks "painted" and if it was broken off once and reglued back later. Whats your overall opinion on this tooth ? Sice 11 cm It was found in the Kemkem beds, morocco. @Phos_01, @FB003, and @North

Hello all, I know the ID of teeth from Morocco/Niger is very difficult but this one has been bugging me since I pulled the trigger on it. I'm happy to call it Theropod Indet but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the shape of this tooth is reminiscent of a specific theropod family because the shape is so skinny compared to normal theropod teeth and this was allegedly from Niger. I tried to include as many and as clean photos as possible. A specific genus isn't necessary but if anyone has any idea which family this tooth is from, I'll be very grateful. It measures 2.25" straightline.

we have got some very nice trilos last time, most I know but this tiny ones (approx. 1 cm / .4 ") I have never had. My net-research gives Destombesina, what do you think? Seems to be Jbel Issoumour or Jbel Oufaten when I compare the matrix thanks!

Hi guys, i'd like to buy two Moroccan fossils but the explanations of the seller are a bit confusing for me. He told me this was an ancelecerass from the Barmien of Aourir. So i believe this is an Ancyloceras, Barremian. It is about 6 cm. The second item is a bloc with two Trilobites. The seller told me they were conihapultusse from the Devonian of Erfoud. So, i believe they are CCyphaspdae, maybe Braunops ? They are about 4 cm, including the pygidial seine. @piranha @Kane I'd like to know what you think about them guys. guys.Thank you.

some days ago, a Moroccan seller I know offered me a graptolite that I had never seen before; I present 2 photos, one with the natural gray color of the rock and one under artificial lighting. The species was recently described under the name Webbyites felix (publication accessible on researchgate) Enjoy.

Hi everyone! After a recent post on the fossil ID section I was inspired to create a thread dedicated to asking questions on something that seems to have popped up very recently and I'm having trouble finding good info on, the "Dekkar Formation". So far almost everything I've seen on it is from listings selling fossils from this formation, which I of course take with a grain of salt. What is typically claimed or at least strongly hinted at is: The Dekkar Formation being a middle Cretaceous dinosaur fossil bearing formation from Morocco containing fossils usually associated with the also middle Cretaceous dinosaur fossil bearing formation in Morocco, the Kem Kem Beds (Spino, Carch, Abelisaur, Pterosaur, etc.). Dekkar Formation fossils are not only rarer than Kem Kem Bed fossils, but have a distinctive darker color (a situation that kind of reminds me of Bone Valley and Peace River in Florida). My questions are; Is the Dekkar Formation a recognized geologic formation, or is this another "Tegana Formation" situation? Are the above statments true as far as the estimated time period, documented species within this formation, and distinctive color? How reliable is that distinctive color in differentiating Dekkar and Kem Kem material? Or is that color found in the Kem Kem as well on occasion? Any insight is appreciated as always!

Any idea on what genus this could be from? Or, if it even is a crocodile after all? This tooth was previously IDed as a crocodile but others claimed spinosaurid. The tooth is late Cretaceous in age. It's from the Kem Kem Phosphate Beds in Touz, Kem Kem Basin, Morocco.

It appears to be glued or a bit reconstructed and not very well preserved, but also looks a bit off to me (texture, shape) One small tooth is still in place, and suprisingly, it looks more genuine. But lets hear what you think about it. It was found in the Kemkem beds, morocco.

Hello, I saw this moroccan Plesiosaurus skull for sale today and wondered If its genuine or not. Some teeth are missing which I think wouldnt if its completly fake to make it more valuebale, and the overall look is good to me, but im not an expert on moroccan fakes but if its one, its definitly better than the usual composite skulls. It was apparently found in Ben Grier, morocco.

Hello, i saw this Dinosaur tooth from morocco for sale today and wondered how high the possibilitys for it beeing a Dromeosaur tooth are. It does not look very Carch or Abeli like to me, which is a good sign i guess ? Migth be Noasaurid maybe ? I dont know, but maybe you ! Got this shark tooth from a rock show a couple of years ago (when I was not into fossil collecting) and seller said it was from morocco, that is all I know as far as this tooth goes. (I am not a shark tooth expert by any means, but I can tell that the root is composite and not original) Thank you for your time!

Hello, i saw this fully rooted Spinosaurus tooth for sale today. The root seems kinda original, but there are some suspicious areas in it. But they do not cover completly around the tooth. Maybe some bad crack filling was done, what happend also visible on this tooth ? Let me know what you think about it !

I have decided to cash in my IRA and put the money into this rare, baby Mosasaur, I feel in the long run, with appreciation of the rare piece, I can beat the 16.78% return I had last year in the stock market. I am impressed at how robust infant mosasaurs were. They were obviously strong swimmers from birth! In the off chance, that there may be a small amount of repair; I am posting it here for opinions.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if it would be possible to prep Moroccan trilobites with my dremel 290 and ZoicPaleotech bits (and get decent results). I've been wanting to buy some unprepared specimens, but am unsure if I'd be able to do anything to them. Is there any particular matrixes or species you'd recommend? also, where would one aquire affordable, unprepared specimens? I'm not an expert fossil-prepper by any means (as you can tell by my current tools). Thanks in advance.

Hello, i saw this big Spinosaurus tooth on auction today and wondered, If the root is real and not a composed one. Obviously, a crack was filled, but thats OK for me, and everything else looks fine to me. The tooth Matches also whith the rooted one, seen in Troodon's guide. So would it be worth trying to get it, or should i stay far away from it ? Found in : Kemkem beds, morocco Sice : 12 cm

My company is taking on interns this summer. Preparation course in Vertebrate Paleontology This course aims to familiarize the student with the preparation of fossils. The course concerns (is open to) everyone. Internship subject: Use of 3D scanning techniques in paleontology. Purpose of the course: The trainees will participate in the preparation of an anatotitan mummy with skin. Techniques used by the trainees: Excavation photography, silicone molding, 3D scanner, 3D printers. Trainees who wish will be able to learn the basics of preparing vertebrate fossils. Use of pneumatic engravers, Use of consolidation techniques in the field and in the laboratory, Use of sandblasting techniques Silicone base molding techniques. Period of the internship: from July 1 to the end of September, and possibly the internship will be extended or renewed, depending on requests. The trainees are accommodated on site at my expense, housed, fed and washed. The internship takes place in Kenitra- Morocco Send curriculum or cover letter.
