Hi, I don't have any information on this specimen since I believe the rock that I found it in is foreign to the area I discovered it. Although I think the rock is from somewhere around the Western Pennsylvania/Eastern Ohio area. It is approximately 2.6 cm by 2 cm. Just hoping someone has some idea what it is. Thanks again.

I was searching around a local stream when I found some limestone with dozens of crinoid stems. I can't say what the formation is as I think they rolled down a hillside which had foreign limestone blocks to prevent erosion. If they are native, they would be Pennsylvanian Glenshaw Formation. Each of them has stellate lumens and many have a pinkish hue. Can anyone tell me what variety of crinoid and is it possible to discern the period? Thanks.

I found these in Washington County Maryland (live in Central PA) while staying at an Airbnb. They were lying in and around a small creek. I've never seen anything like these before. I kept thinking they were peices of wood but was surprised to find them to be rocks when I picked them up. I also found this large peice of quartz? I have no idea so what do you all think?

Went to a site in central PA today and collected some Llewelyn formation ferns and other Carboniferous plants. Second opinions on the following are appreciated! 1, I thought this is an Alethopteris but the leaves look like they can also be some immature Neuropteris with compound leaves with the leaves pressed together. 2. Is this Sigillaria bark? 3. Wasn’t sure if this is Lepidodendron bark. These crosshatched stem-looking prints are quite common at the site 4. is this a Calamite print? 5. I am fairly certain this is Neuropteris but just would like to be sure. That’s all. All and any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance and let me know if scale is needed.

What do I know? This piece is Pennsylvanian and probably from Brush Creek Limestone. It was found near marine fossils. I have no idea what it is. All help is appreciated.

Small plate from fish found at Red Hill. My best guess as to the ID would be a Turrisaspis sp. Posterior dorsolateral plate, although I am not sure that that's what I have here as I couldn't really find much to reference. Late Devonian, Catskill Fm., PA. -

A reconstruction of the Mahantango Formation

I just finished a reconstruction of the Mahantango ecosystem, based off of fossils I have found at corresponding sites. This certainly does not cover all species in this formation, but many of the most prominent (Sorry no Dipleura, haven't done that one yet). I recently learned about Striacoceras and re-identified many of my orthocerids as this obscure genus. Striacoceras is the brown orthocone in the background. I included two crinoid genera, (left to right) Ancyrocrinus and Botryocrinus. an Eldredgeops searches for prey. There are several Mucrospirifer brachiopods, some Orthonota bivalves, a couple ammonoids (Tornoceras and Agoniatites), and some Pleurodictyum coral. In the distance, a shoal of Bactrites drifts. This is one of my first entire ecosystems.
