Hi everyone, I'd like to know your opinion on an item I found during a trip to a former (since turned into a museum) coal mine in Belgium, near the Liège (Luik) area. The coal that was mined there was created during the Westphalian. Massive amounts of waste from the mine were dumped out near it and fossils can be found there. Among this rubble I found an item that I suspect to be an imprint from a plant or tree but it could also be a pseudofossil as I have no idea how to properly id it. Any help on getting an id would be greatly appreciated! To be clear: the units on the ruler are millimeters and not centimeters. For this next image I held the item at an angle to get better lightning so the grooves are more clearly visible: Finally, the last image is the underside of the item, which is how must of the usual rubble at the mine looks: Thanks in advance!

Inspired to act by Jamie‘s @JamieLynn and their “fossil a day” thread. I been thinking about creating a digital visual catalogue of my collection for a long time now . Been very dyslexic this is a difficult task to undertake. After seeing Jamie’s thread I thought one fossil a day will just take a sort time to photograph, collate and post, making this more achievable task . I will also keep a digital copies for my records. Posting on the forum means that other members can see my small collection and help me if needed with incorrect IDs or names that have changed . The forum has been really helpful in organising my collection . I really can’t gain information from books or scientific papers, the level of concentration I need to comprehend large passages of text is beyond me. This meanings that most of my information is from TFF. For that I thank you all greatly.

Hello everyone! A couple of weeks ago, I traveled to Turimetta Beach, a Triassic fossil locality in the Sydney Basin. I found several plant fossils. Some were too fragmentary for ID, but if possible I would like to know people's opinions on the ID of these three. I've read through previous forum posts and am aware these might not be able to be ID'ed. Fossil plate which I found as a rockfall near Turimetta Headland. A relatively large stem which was found in the same rockfall. A small leaf I found at an outcrop on the beach itself. Thanks for any possible help!

My husband found this nearly perfect spherical fossil on a beach in South Carolina. We think it looks like an acorn, but perhaps it is some sea creature. Any ideas? Thanks for your help
