I was assigned a project on the culture of Micronesia for my AP world history class, so I decided to build a tebutje (shark sword) to show the traditional warfare techniques of the region........ I had a lot of fun with this, and it was a good way to use some of the extra shark teeth I had in my collection! I attached a section of video I used for the project that shows the building and trial of my tebutje, I hope you have some fun with it too! * I may have mis-IDed some of the shark's teeth, my history teacher doesn't know much about sharks...so I'm good on that end. if you see a mis-IDed tooth, let me know! a photo of the final design:

Receiving this gorgeous but mysterious specimen is from Upper Pennsylvanian limestone dated around 290-300 million years ago from somewhere around Kansas City. Looks like a tooth to me and my best guess would be orodus? But I have little experience with Pennsylvanian shark teeth in general and especially from this area, also cannot find a comparison elsewhere online. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi! I just returned home from the Venice Beach area in Florida and I was curious if anyone one could tell me what these broken fragments could have been. I’m a newbie here so any other recommendations on how to identify are welcomed thanks in advance

Last weekend was my first trip to the Peace River. And now that the rain is coming in I am in a rush to get as many trips in as I can. Today was my second trip. Went to the same spot. It went great, I'm estimating over 1000 teeth about twice the amount as my first trip. On and off showers, the river is up about a foot since the weekend. Top finds: Broken Meg Large Sand Shark Large Tiger 1" Alligator Broken Hemi (would have been awesome if it was complete)

I needed something to satisfy my itch since I still cannot get out. So i had purchased a box of matrix from Lee Creek. I spent the weekend seperating the matrix into 4 different sizes. I was excited to try my smaller double decker sifter and it worked perfect. I also used that over a window screen. I found a ton of new items that I do not have in my collection. Including my first croc tooth. It is super tiny but it is my first. These are my finds after my first run through. I think I am going to have to get some type of magnifying glass for the smaller stuff. Any feedback on incorrect ID's is much appreciated. Enjoy the pics. First time to the peace river, after reading everything on here I was dying to get out there. I rented a canoe and stopped about a 1/4 mile from the launch on a gravel pit. Ended up staying in that spot all day. We maybe found 1000 teeth in total. We weren't sure if finding small teeth was a good sign for finding larger teeth or if it is irrelevant. I think I found a few baby megalodons and broken 2 Broken Makos. Not completely sure however. And 3 alligator/crocodile teeth. Nothing larger than about an inch. I plan on going back this week to look for larger teeth before this weeks rain brings the water up to high.

This specimen is on the boundary between auriculatus-sokolovi in my opinion. -
Took a trip to purse state park today, got there around 9:30 and the lot was already pretty full. Made our way down the beach to the spots we like to search and my wife found the biggest croc tooth we have found, at least double the size of any of the other ones we have found. A little bit later walking along the low tide shoreline I did a double take and saw the big Otodus tooth pictured. We were able to find a lot of other nice size otodus and sand tiger teeth during our time there. On our way back walking the beach entrance and Wades Bay were packed with at least 100 people and their boats. Overall a great day for hunting!
