Supposed Spinosaurus Jaw
Spinodude posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Came across this piece. Its advertised as being a juvie spinosaurus jaw with some of its teeth/roots still intact. Looks shady as heck to me and even if its 'real' it looks more like those elosuchus jaw parts you might find online. What do you guys say? -

Spinosaurus tooth? Just got into fossils...
KDD posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I bought this one already, my very first fossil of any kind. Is there anything that sets off any alarms? I know people usually enquire about longer teeth which might show signs of extension, but I would feel better just making sure. I also have my eyes set on a batch of 5. From what little I've researched, those 5 set off more alarm bells but I'm at my max total for attachments. -

Is this entirely a spinosaurus vert? I’m wondering if the top and bottom are from the same bone. From the sides I could see there being some matrix camouflaging where they’re connected, but then from the front or back view, i think it looks like it’s clearly uninterrupted, so as usual, I need help:/

This is the second item I purchased. It’s about 6.5” from Kem Kem in Morocco, any idea if it’s real, seller claims this is world-class and has minimal restoration, and the tip is natural

Good morning. Since it's dinosaur Friday I thought I'd share a Spinosaurus vertebra that I prepped. The first photo is the "before".

Spino tooth wear and tear
Mahnmut posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello together, some time ago I bought a nice big Spinosaurus tooth I am quite happy with. I only wonder when its tip got its shape: when the animal was still alive and chewing fish , when the fossil was (partially) in the ground or when it was in the preppers workshop. Any opinions on that one? thanks in advance, J- 3 replies

Spinosaurus finger claw
Still_human posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Does this seem real? It just looks sort of suspect to me. The channel running down the length looks way to uniform and perfect to be real. -
Hi all, I have another fossil here for your inspection please. It seems to be a Spinosaurid partial neural spine but I cannot be sure. @Troodon @LordTrilobite

Hello! I’m an amateur collector of fossils, and I recently purchased a Spinosaurus tooth. I cannot tell if the tip of its tooth was replaced and if it has any repaired cracks. Do you guys have any thoughts on this?

Here is one of two serrated Spinosaurus teeth I recently acquired. Let me know what you think! The tooth is from Kemkem and is about 3cm in lenght. The serrations are very small, but still visible with the naked eye as I spotted this one on a fossil fair some time ago.

Spinosaurus teeth, is it real?
WindFallen posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello! I’m new here and I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I’m a complete novice to all of this and the reason I’m here is because I wanted to buy my brother some Spinosaurus teeth as a gift, as they are his favorite, but I wanted to make sure what I’m buying is authentic or if it’s been repaired. I hope I’ve found a reputable site, but I would like to ask anyone’s opinion just to be on the safe side. The first one is 2.67 long. The second is 2.61. Both are said to be from the Kem Kem Beds. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance! -
Hi all, I acquired a partial Spinosauridae caudal spine recently from the Kem Kem Beds. However, I was told that this is a dinosauria indet. rib. The digger who provided me the fossil is experienced and trustworthy. Still, I would like to hear your thoughts on this fossil. Thank you. EDIT: Two others suggested that this is part of a scapula

Does this look like a spinosaurus jaw section? The tooth looks legit from what I can see, but the jaw bone looks strange for an apparent Kem Kem fossil. Is that trench along the tooth line, in the top view, a spino feature?

Spinosaurus Claw, fake or not?
JavierMS posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Greetings, I recently acquired a big spinosaurus claw from a moroccan seller at a fossils and minerals event in Barcelona, Spain, called Expominer. I was quite happy with the purchase until a friend of mine told me that it could be a fake claw carved from a bone, but he is not sure, I have been checking similar spinosaurus claws on catawiki and they are sold as real dinosaur claws... What do you think? Thank you very much. -
Hello, i bought this vert today, the seller say that is spino but i need à confirmation. It clarly come from the Kem Kem and it’s realy big

Hello I'm a newbie fossil collector (and newly active member) who happens to several interesting fossils for a decent price from our favorite auctions sites 1st is are Knightia. The seller claims that they are not restored or enhanced 2nd set are 4 Spinosaurus teeth. The seller claims that cracks have been repaired, but no restoration or composition has been made (Pictures 2-9 of teeth in pairs) 3rd is a Lycoptera which the seller claims is not restored or enhanced 4th are plates of Elrathia Trilobites from Wheeler Formation 5th are Fossil Ferns from Llewellyn Formation 6th is a Hyracodon jaw fragment I would like to ask if the sellers' description of the items are accurate and/or if they are restored, enhanced or composites. Cheers!

I just recently bought this Spinosaurus tooth at rock shop. When I looked closer it had a good covering of dust on it from sitting on the shelf for a long time. Its covered in these weird fibers you typically see that are used to make stuffed animals. I think they may have packaged it weird or something. Does anyone know how to get rid of these so my Spinosaurus tooth will look good again?

Does anyone have any specific way(s) to tell the difference between suchomimus teeth and spinosaurus teeth? I know there's an eventual size difference, but that only helps if the tooth is too big to be from a sucho.
