I bought a large box or various fossils that I believe were part of someone's estate off of an online auction site. This is a portion of trilobite and unfortunately there was no label to go with it. Hopefully there is enough detail in the picture for someone to narrow it down a bit. Let me know if better pictures are needed or a close up of the eyes.or something else. Thanks

This sample is more damaged than the trilobites I usually find, but I would still like to ID it. I realize that this is likely the thorax of an Isotelus, since that is what I have been finding at this site, but this thorax looks a bit different than the others I have been finding - it looks a bit more concave to me, as opposed the more flat / convex thorax of the other trilobites I have. Also, there seems to be a piece down the center that looks to be from somewhere else, and not from this trilobite. Thoughts? I included both a dry and a wet pic, to try to show more detail, as well as a closer-up pic from one side.

Hi - this is my first post to this group. I found this partial trilobite fossil this past summer in Ordovician limestone near Eganville, Ontario, Canada and I am hoping that someone here can help me identify the trilobite species it belongs to. This piece measures 3.5 inches in length by a little over 2.5 inches wide and I believe it is the pygidium and most of the thorax (so a little more than half of the full trilobite). Also, it has a little over 1/2 inch in depth, so it is not completely crushed flat. I would have much rather found a full trilobite - and I do have a full trilobite that I found that I am having prepped, that I will post at a later date - but I am very happy with the size and condition of this sample. I broke it out of the rock in this condition - no prepping has been done to this sample. Any thoughts?

Hi again ! This broke out in a difficult way. Maybe the next one will split in a more desirable fashion. Both of these pieces are from the same chunk of matrix, but are 2 different animals. Almost certain of this because they will not "plug" into one another. Could be the same one tho I guess. Anyway, is there enough of it there to ID it ? (them ? ) Thanks for looking,

Hello folks ! Tis the season to go digging. fa la la la ................. I haven't posted for a spell, but have checked in on occasion. There is a small area of my yard where grass won't grow, just weeds with bare ground in between. This item was lying on the surface. I've ridden the mower over it for 26 years now and finally looked down at the right moment. Looks like it might be the thorax of a trilobite, but am not sure. Is it recognizable to any of you ? Thanks.
