    Help identifying fossil

Found this in grey county in the panhandle of Texas. I am unsure if it is a rock or a fossil. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Unknown vertebra?

Hello, I’m new to this group and was hoping for help identifying this find. I found it on a well known fossil beach on the east coast of VA, USA. It looks like a vertebra to me, but this was my first fossil hunting trip and I was expecting to find shark teeth. Any ideas on what this is from? Or if it is really ancient? Thank you for your help!

    Mazon Creek ID

As with many Mazon Creek pieces, a lot is left up to interpretation and imagination. Looking to see what people think about this piece. @RCFossils @stats @Mark Kmiecik @connorp @deutscheben and any other FF members.
  5. Bonebed

    Any ideas?

Hello, I hope that I've done this right. To my very untrained eye this looks like a bone. It is: L-5.5 in. W, at the knob 2.5in It weighs 523g. I found it, along with several other items, at a rather large construction site in South Central Alaska. There were quite a few items that I found interesting. Any help that you may off is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    NW Alabama

Formation: Bangor Limestone Age: Mississippian Found this location in a remote area of Alabama recently. I Haven't hunted the Bangor in awhile, so I gave it a shot. A fragmentary calyx. Northern Alabama seems to be teeming with these, as I found 8 others in a nearby locality as well. A complete, but squashed roller of a Kaskia? Fenestrella are found commonly articulated with their fans here. This was the best individual I found. My guess is these are Spyroceras? All of my nautiloids come from the Ordovician, so these are unqiue for me. I'm not certain I know what these are. Could be a bryozoan? Bacterial structure? Steinkern? These are sponges I believe, species unknown. Composita brachiopods: Unknown productids: Next are some new brachiopods I have yet to identify. Oh, and here is a brachiopod with an exposed brachidium. Finally here are some blastoids with weird preservational attributes.

    Fossil ID Eastern Oregon

Hello all, I found this in a river near John Day, which is near the John Day Fossil beds. I have zero information as I am a total newbie to all this, but I am very excited! I’ve run it under the water to see it better. It is roughly 4 in/10cm from one end of the white part to the other end of the white part. If you look at the top of the back, there looks to be more of the white just barely showing a ridge. Any help is appreciated!
  9. Queensland.fossils

    Crab? Crustacean? Skull?

I came across this one today and am stumped as to what it is. It comes from a Queensland beach, Australia in a location where I mostly only find crabs and shells. There really isn’t any information on the age of the rock that they come from. The best guess is from a paper written in the late 1800’s suggesting a date of around 10,000 years. Judging by the gradient of rock colour/type I suspect some are much older.
  10. i found this on a gravel bar about a hour north of new orleans , in the mississippi gravel flow , never seen anything out there like this , any help would be great , its 1 1/4 x 3/8 x 1/2 inch , and druzy crystals on the inside
