Hi everyone, I purchased an acrylic case to display various shark teeth with labels. The teeth would be placed on the bottom panel - the one that is on the table - with labels underneath them. Here's what it looks like: I didn't really consider how I would keep the shark teeth in their places. When the case is shifted, the teeth will shift with it. The teeth would just need to stay still if I need to move the case for cleaning underneath it, for instance. I don't want to use anything destructive like glue because it's likely that I'll want to replace teeth with better ones once I get them. Whatever I use, I'd like it to allow me to replace teeth as I please. I considered an anti-slip pad underneath the teeth; I doubt that would damage anything, but I'm not sure how well it will work. In any case, it's my best option right now and I'd appreciate more from those more experienced with this.

I've been meaning to make these for quite sometime. I went into work today to get a project finished and completed it quicker than expected. So i figured I'd finally make these acrylic display stands. I made a few Mastercam programs and started making chips on the router table. The smaller ones are 3/8" acrylic rod and with a 1/2" acrylic base. The larger mosasaur stand is 3/16" acrylic. To hold most of these fossils i bent up brass rods and glued them into the 3/8" rod. They look funny bunched together, but they will look much more professional when not so crowded and in my new display cases. I still need to make a lot more, but for now I'm pleased. Thanks Santa! Lol

I had a fossil display at the Rochester Gem & Mineral Show this past weekend and I was asked "Where do you get all your display stands from?". When I worked for World of Science Inc. and Natural Wonders, I bought ALL my stands and bases from Jule-Art inc.. I spent $25,000-$30,000 a year on acrylic displays and any specimen I sold in our stores over $50 came with a free base or stand. They have a ton to choose from and they pack them extremely well and ship quickly. On some of the beveled bases I applied black or burgundy felt so the specimens wouldnt scratch the acrylic and it looked good. Go through your collection, use your imagination, and have fun displaying. Heres a tip - 3 prong stands, easels, and bases with rubber feet work the best for most fossils. mikey http://www.jule-art.com/
