Hey everybody. Last year I bought one of those T-Rex air scribes from the UK that runs on 50 psi. It appears to be equivalent to the Paleo Tools ME 9100. I also have a Paleo Tools Super Jack but that runs on 90 psi. I run it at 110 psi. Here is my question, Is there a big air scribe out there in the market that is equivalent to the Super Jack but runs on 50 psi? Thank you RB

Hey everyone! Just thought I would share this thing I made to organize my air scribes and parts, but also to have a way to keep them off the dirty bench when not using them. I have been working at the Village Barn (a small company that repairs and sells, boots, saddles, shaps, bridles, ropes, whips, knives, etc.) as an apprentice for about a month or two, and finally decided to try to make something to store my scribes. I think it turned out pretty good, but if I were to make it for someone else I would have made it nicer. Thanks for looking! Cheers and Shalom, -Micah

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on 1. air scribes you’ve found are good for fossil prep, and 2. All the parts needed for Scribes. I’m not quite sure all the parts needed for a scribe, I know you need the scribe itself and an air compressor, but I don’t know beyond that. P.s; the fossils I’ll be working on will be Green River fish, for the most part.

Another air scribe question. I'm looking at scribes and after some reading I've understood there's two main types based on how they function. Don't remember the words but one types was 'push lever' or something and the other i can't remember at all. The point is that one is kinder to the rock than the other. My local stone is mostly limestone (some of it mildly metamorphosed) and shale. Shale I know is defined as soft rock, but what does limestone sort under? I have a hard time doing any prepping with hand tools, and most of the best fossils are found in the lime. So my question is, should I go for the kinder but also weaker type of scribe or do I need the stronger one for the limestone fossils? Possibly worth mentioning is that it seems a lot of the fossils are made of mudrock and damage REALLY easily.

I'm working on getting equipment to clean fossils, however I've ran into this problem. If the air scribe never seems to come with an air compressor, how do they expect you to use it? So I have found two tools, the air scribe with those hose and scribe but no compressor. The second thing I have found was the air abrasive tool with the compressor. Can I simply use the same compressor for both parts or will I need to buy a special air compressor for each. I hope I can just use the same one.
