I have a lofty goal to collect at least one species of every brachiopod found in the USA that I can possibly obtain. I recently started a spreadsheet to itemize my collection. Spread sheet is attached. I will also periodically add photos. So far I've added: Cambrian, Silurian, Devonian, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, Paleocene, Eocene, and Pliocene Brachiopods of the USA.xlsx

I'm interested in a few of these turtle fossils supposedly found in the Neuse river in North Carolina. They are also labeled as Cretaceous. Do you think this is accurate or could they be from another age and or locality?

I found this bone on a fossil hunting trip in North Dakota, it was identified as a theropod, probably a T. Rex. Can anyone verify this claim? Thanks for any responces! (The ruler is mesuring in centimeters)

Hello, Next summer I am going to visit Northamerica for my first time, and would really like to visit a Green River commercial quarry; my problems (doubts) are: Which one is the better quarry?, referring to abundance and variety. I live in Spain, and I guess the fossils are too heavy to carry on a plane, so I thought to send them by mail, will I have problems with customs?. In that case, can someone from the quarry provide me a certificate that these fossils have been legally collected? Which messaging company should I use?, preferably a careful one. How should I pack the fossils to protect them? Any other info/advise will also be gratefully thanked.

Hi all, I found online the following fossil. The finder claims it to be an egg, which I really doubt, although I am no expert. What can it possible be?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Find location is south america, sorry for the lack of further details! Best!

Hi, I am planning a trip to America and my 8yo son is megalodon tooth crazy ... where is the best place to go to search for them? I've heard South Carolina. Anything more specific? Does anyone have any advice please. It's a long trip for us and really want to make it worth his while! Thanks so much!

Hello again TTF! This will be my second post about my finds from my first trip to the peace river! This post is dedicated to one of my favourite finds and one of my favourite animals, the mammoth! During my trip to the peace river, I found many beautiful fossils myself, but I seemed to have had the best luck searching through other people's garbage. The location where I went to collect in was already visited many times by other people. Everything unwanted that turns up in their shifters is usually thrown to the banks, creating garbage piles. One particularly productive garbage pile produced many of my favourite Dugong ribs, my only meg (more on that later) and a mammoth tooth! How someone could look at these things and throw them away is beyond me. Unfortunately, the tooth was already fragmented when I found it. I believe that all the fragments came from the same tooth, though, because some fit together perfectly! I also have a question about this tooth. Is it possible to identify the species of mammoth from the tooth, either from its features or by looking at the known species of mammoth present in Florida? Thanks!
