I found this bone in my yard while clearing out trees. One end has been cut. I don’t know if it’s fossilized or not and I don’t know what it came from. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello dear members, my 10 year old son found this little stone (1.5 inches long) in a backyard in Michigan (lower peninsula). We found petoskey stones (fossilized rugose coral, Hexagonaria percarinata.)there as well and hope to find someone who can tell us if this is a petrified animal or plant? Especially the little white part looks so interesting to us, perhaps someone knows more. We’re no experts and just started collecting:) Thank you very much!

Hi. So, I have a couple of pieces of animal bone that I cannot identify - I feel like I should know what they are but just can't quite put my finger on it. They were located in Lincolnshire, England, and I'm after the type of bone they are and possibly the animal - although large (cattle sized), medium (sheep sized) or small (rabbit sized) would also work for what I need them for. I will post each individual bone in a separate post to make it easier to identify. This one is approximately 122mm long. I think it's a long bone, but can't identify the actual bone itself - if that makes sense?

I will post each individual bone in a separate post to make it easier to identify. This is approximately an inch long. Ignore the writing on the side as bone marking is to make sure we know which collection it came from.

Please forgive the photos being taken in two different locations - I realised the initial ones on the scales were not showing enough of the bone itself. I think it's possibly a joint of some kind?

Found these two rocks earlier in Big Creek by my place in Iron Co. MO. they look as though they are made up almost entirely of tiny plant & animal fossils. Each rock is about 6"x4"x2".

These are found among river stones that yield a lot of crinoid fragments and worm traces. Any idea would be appreciated as the leaf-shapes are funky!!

Strange fossil. Found in wash south of Santa Fe, NM. P-wood in area. It is a heavy crystal rock with many swirls and whirls. Might be a coral. But just can't tell. An enigma---

This is my first fossil bone find. It was found near the mussleshell river in Montana. More specifically Roundup MT. It appears to be some sort of a whale bone fossil. I'm not sure? Any suggestions?

I found what looks to be a large dinosaur fossil fragment with bite marks of some sort on it. What type of animal would this be? And what caused these marks?

Please advise what type of animal is this: it could be a trilobite, brachiopod or plant-animal. N.2 N.3 N.4 - this is most likely a small trilobite ( 1 cm) N.5 N.6 N.7 -left side segment N.8 - here I put some oil on this segment for better visibility

Hello wonderful fossil-people! If you and you're gang enjoy solving a groovy mystery, I have a post for you! This rock was found in an area of Northern Arizona that is very well know for producing lots and lots of bryozoan, brachiopod, and crinoid fossils, as well as crystals and geodes. The bit of rock in question was found in the side of what appears to be a broken geode. There is a triangular fragment of stone that does not match the material surrounding it. There is also a white discoloration encompassing the triangle that I've highlighted in green on one of the photos below. The colors in the 3rd photo are a little more true to what it looks like in real life. The geode is kind of a pink-ish color and the triangle "fossil" is a dark brown/reddish color. Given the abundance of marine fossils found in the same location, I wonder if this is also fossil. It just seems so out of place in this rock. I have oodles of bryozoan, brachiopod, & crinoids that I've found in the same location and I can share pictures of these, if it somehow helps So what do you think, fossil or random bit of stone? If it is a fossil give me your best guess as to what it might be... or even give me your worst guess. I'm not picky lol.

I found this on a sandbar along the Missouri River, and in the State of Missouri, and was wanting to get confirmation on if it is a bison vertebrae.

Hi, my name is Nathalie, I'm the owner of the attached item. I have no idea what it is and have been looking for a long time for some ideas on the subject. It was in Tibet at some point, but cannot be originated from that country with certainty, it could be from anywhere really. There is also an XRF (Tibet.xls) of the item attached a friend in my family did in case it helps (sommet-1.jpg). I am a total noob on the fossil field and wondering if any of you has seen anything related so I can start research and understand what it is.
