Hello again! I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for places in the north east US (around PA) that I could research? As was suggested to me, I’ve narrowed down the things I’d like to collect. I’m really interested in fossils that.. well look like things. Don’t get me wrong, shells and crinoids are exciting! But I’d be so jazzed to have fish, crustaceans, insects, or plants. Anomalocaris are so rad, though I fully understand that those are hard to find so I’m going to focus on other stuff for now lol. Maybe someday. My dad in particular wanted me to ask if anyone knew of any ea

I've recently been engaging in my pointless and worthless hobby of photographing inclusions in amber. Baltic amber on this occasion, and my favourite type of inclusions, ants. However, I have a question about the structures that I see on the ant's heads, and I wonder if anybody could fill me in? I've done some googling with limited results. My question pertains to the ocelli, organs on the heads of ants which in some way assist them with navigation. First of all, in this picture, you can see a structure between the two antennae, which looks quite similar to a human skin

Hello. My first time posting here. I am a new member. I found this today in Southern Florida. Does anyone have insight as to what this may be? It is over 1 pound. I do not have a scale at the moment. Very hard and distinctive impressions that appear to be bug related. Wow. Do you see the face too? Really unique. Kindly. Stephanie
