    Archaeotherium Jaw

Working on an Archaeotherium jaw. It is in pretty rough shape and wish the teeth were in better condition, still a neat specimen. It still needs work but what do you guys think so far??

    Entelodont Incisor?

Hi everyone! I wanted to get some opinions on this tooth I found in Wyoming's White River formation back in 2020. While I was initially unsure of what it could be, over the last few years I have been of the belief that it was a somewhat worn incisor from an entelodont (Archaeotherium mortoni). The deeply rooted tooth is ~4 cm long and ~1.5 cm at its widest point. Any input would be appreciated. @jpc @siteseer @ParkerPaleo

    Archaeotherium upper jaw section

1.7 kg. Upper jaw section displaying eight teeth and two partial teeth. From an old Bristol paleontological collection; previously acquired 1950s-1960s. It was accompanied by a ticket from the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research.

    Archaeotherium or Brontotherium?

The following pictures are of a fossil collected near Chadron, Nebraska circa 1971. I have received opinions that it could be the base of an Archaeotherium or Brontotherium skull. There are several small teeth on the matrix, I presume they are unrelated. I would appreciate any information anyone can give me about it.
  7. Hello everyone! Prior to the lockdown and money getting tight I won this at an auction, and it finally arrived today. What are your opinions and observations regarding its authenticity? I was also wondering about the white areas that appear to flow seamlessly with the specimen- is this also a binding product? It did say that it had restoration, and it’s clear that grey plaster/cement has been used, particularly at the front of the jaw where it appears to have previously broken. Thanks in advance!
  8. Here are a couple canines that I have in my collection- What do you have? Oreodont (Left) & Archaeotherium (Right) - (Oligocene-White River Formation- South Dakota) Hyaenodon (Oligocene-White River Formation- South Dakota) Oreodont (Oligocene-White River Formation- South Dakota) Coyote (Pleistocene- River Terrace Deposit- Kansas)

    Badlands Fossil Tooth Help

Hey, I would like a little bit of help, usually I rarely purchase fossils unless I am myself very familiar with them and can self-ID with confidence (this saves me from rattling over google/books for hours trying to reassure myself). I've always had a liking for Archaeotherium ever since I was a kid (weirdly) and I wanted to get a fossil from this animal, I finally came across what I believe to be a reliable dealer. Someone who prepares the fossils themselves, gets them personally out of the rock on private land and they seem to be really passionate about the White River Badlands. Trouble is
  10. Hey guys, new to the forum but here is my collection focused on proboscidea but I collect other things mainly Oligocene mammal teeth and jaws, I don't have anything titanothere yet though.... also some dinosaur bones like my ceratopian jaw hinge, I've identified all of my fossils are except for the white gomp tooth on the stand, I think it might be Chinese platybelodon. anyways here it is. thanks -Rylawz
