"Gracie" the mosasaur was finally freed from her 90 million year old South Bosque Member of the Eagle Ford Shale "prison" on February 1. Partly exposed before her discovery on Fossil Day 2023, she is four meters long, complete, and fully articulated - although part of her tail and trunk washed downstream on October 5, 2023. A good part of that float has been recovered. A trip report is attached as a PDF. Thanks go out to @Jared C, @JohnJ, @GPayton, @Mikrogeophagus, my wife Susie, daughter Angela, Stephen Kruse, and twelve other family, friends, and neighbors who helped - especially Dr. Mike Polcyn of SMU who is receiving Gracie as a donation for research. The skull still needs to be prepped and revealed as to what subfamily, genus, and species she is. That may take many months. My advice to prospective fossil hunters: keep checking out your active fossil sites - especially those subject to heavier erosion. You just never know what might pop out! Was wondering if this spine is from a plesiosaur or mosasaur. and is it a neck, tail or trunk spine? Found poorly preserved in Pierre shale sd. There are a few ribs there too. The reddish end pic is where I did a clean break form some more of the fossil which is in different jacket. I roughly cleaned this spine but don't think it's worth putting more time into with all the gypsum.

2ft long block. found weathered and near other marine reptile and fish fossils. Couldn't find any more parts to this. Is this a tail? Seems small compare to other mosasaur verts I find.

Stunning fossil seized in police raid reveals prehistoric flying reptile's secrets (Crato Formation, Brazil)

Stunning fossil seized in police raid reveals prehistoric flying reptile's secrets The nearly human-size pterosaur from Brazil had a gargantuan head crest and was likely a better walker than a flyer. Spectacular articulated vertebrate fossil found in building stone
Oxytropidoceras posted a topic in Fossil News
A picture of a quite articulated vertebrate fossil appeared on Reddit today with someone asking what is it. I wish I could find fossils like this. My dad works as an constructer and he ordered to cut many huge rocks....he found this ,what’s that? - r/Paleontology/ Yours, Paul H.- 6 replies
