fossil_lover_2277 posted a topic in Fossil IDSo I just finished piecing together the remains of a partial sea turtle carapace that I dug out of a lag deposit just outside the town of Summerville in South Carolina. Anyone potentially know any taxonomic information on it, such as what genus or species it might be from? Conversion from inches to cm: 10 inches = 25cm; 5 inches = 12.5cm; 1 inch = 2.5cm
Kikokuryu posted a topic in Fossil IDI purchased these as Ingenia yanshini which I think became Ajancingenia, which then became and is currently Heyuannia. The formation provided is the Djadochta Formation, but that doesn't seem right since Ingenia/Heyuannia is not found there as far as I've checked. Unfortunately, there isn't provenance other than Mongolia attached to them to say whether they come from the Barun Goyot Formation where Heyuannia yanshini is found. While I'm not necessarily doubting the original ID, I just don't really know. I'm not expecting a positive or diagnostic ID to the genus level, but I wanted
Hi all, sorry for the long post, in advance! I purchased these unprepped with some other stuff, but these bones have lines running thru these that almost looks like quartz? Is it glue that you can put on in the field? The pics don’t do it justice at all, it’s a translucent blueish green, second question I’ve got is, are they associated? They don’t seem to fit together, but they are all the same Color of bone and all the same color of line going thru it? Last question, if they’re are associated what did they come from, and what bones are they? @Troodon @jpc @hadrosauridae. TIA
