This one came to me without any information. My best guess is some kind of Ceraurus, from a Trenton Group (Simcoe Gp?) formation in Ontario. Can anyone fill in any more detail than that for me? I know it's rough and maybe not enough features to identify it. Is the bryozoan identifiable? Is the rock distinctive enough to say which formation it might be from? I'll get better pics later if needed.

Everyone knows associated fossils, specifically of associated bones (bones that come from the same creature). I was wondering what association among fossils extend to. Can 2 individual echinoids found in close proximity in the same layer be considered associated?

It was during my spring break 2 weeks ago that I first heard about the PAG. (Paleontology Association of Georgia) It was only started January last year, and have a few dozen members now. In the field, I always seem to pocket neat associations. Two from the last month have been a platyceras affixed to a horn coral, and a tiny brachiopod pressed against the end piece of an orthocone nautiloid. While going through my little pile of dusty high-spired gastropods from last weekend's Brechin trip, I rubbed at the larger one and found a cute, full prone Flexicalymene there. Not a spectacular (re)discovery, but pretty cool nonetheless.
