Hello everybody, can you help me with these? #T1: Carcharias sp (?) or Striatolamia Macrota (?) #T2: Otodus Catticus (???) or maybe, Brachycarcharias Lerichei or Hypotodus verticalis (upper lateral) [On the box was written Otodus Catticus, but I don't know if it belongs to Balegem as specie...] #T3: Brachycarcharias Lerichei or Striatolamia Macrota (?) #T4: ??? Hi everyone. This is my first post (the second one actually, after greetings:). I was wondering the correct identification for these two shark tooth. They come from Balegem (Oosterzele, Belgium), I don't have any other information about the period. I bought them on a market oline as "lamna appendiculata" (it should be a synonim for "Otodus Appendiculatus" (Agassiz, 1843) (??)). Size: 2/2.5cm. I'd appreciate a lot your opinions about that. Hi everyone! Today is received a bunch of unidentified fossil shark teeth found in a now closed sand quarry in Lede Sand, Lede Formation, Balegem, Oosterzele, Belgium (Eocene, Lutetian, 44 mya). I was hoping some of you might help me out with confirming the ID's of the teeth. I have some idea's what the ID might be, but I am not entirely sure about most. Tooth 1 & 2: Definiatly Sandtiger teeth with fine stiations on the crown. That makes me believe that these are probably Striatolamia macrota Tooth 3: Same goes for this one, I also believe this might be Striatolamia macrota Tooth 4: My favorite tooth of the bunch, I am doubting between Brachycarcharias lerichei or Hypotodus verticalis (Upper lateral) Tooth 5: No stiations and a worn cusp 3 mm away fro the base of the crown Hypotodus verticalis? (Upper anterior) Tooth 6: Hypotodus verticalis? (Lower anterior) Tooth 7: Either Hypotodus verticalis or Jaekelotodus robustus Teeth 8 - 11: Brachycarcharias lerichei? Tooth 12: Not sure about this one, maybe Macrorhizodus nolfi anterior tooth or Parotodus sp.? Tooth 13: Looks closest to Xiphodolamia ensis Tooth 14: A tooth with cusps and striations Striatolamia macrota? Tooth 15: small cusps and striated Striatolamia macrota? Tooth 16: I have not really a clue which one this could be. Tooth 17: either Odontaspis winkleri or Brachycarcharias lerichei Tooth 18: Physogaleus secundus Tooth 19: Physogaleus secundus Tooth 20: Physogaleus secundus Tooth 21: Physogaleus secundus Tooth 22: Not sure about this one either. Could it be Jaekelotodus sp. or Paratodus sp.? Tooth 23: Striatolamnia? Tooth 24: Striatolamnia macrota Tooth 25: No sure either it has a weird root and no cusps, maybe Macrorhizodus praecursor? Tooth 26: Brachycarcharias lerichei Tooth 27: Sand Tiger, but which? Tooth 28: Odontaspis winkleri or Carcharias sp. or Hypotodus verticalis? Tooth 29: Brachycarcharias lerichei Tooth 30: Brachycarcharias lerichei Tooth 31: Brachycarcharias lerichei That were all of them, I hope I wasn't too far off with some. Please help me identify these teeth. I bought them at a fossil shop, out of a box labeled "42 million years old discovered in Balegem, Belgium". Where I am confused is that there were several H. Serra teeth in the box, which from my research should not be found in this location. Thus all these teeth are suspect at this point.

Hello all, I stop collecting shark teeth from the cenozoic. I offer all my shark teeth for trade here. There are 3 different location. -Antwerpen, Schelde. Collected in 1970 (not by me) -Balegem. Collected in 1986 (not by me) -Steendorp. Date not known. There is one Megalodon (Steendorp). It's about 8 cm and has all serrations. There is some damage at one side. Steendorp is a closed location were fossils from the Neogene were found. Next there is about 4,5 pound of Balegem shark and ray teeth. These were collected in 1986. There are a couple of Otodus teeth (at least 3 complete), I heard these are pretty rare, but most are from Striatolamia macrota. The biggest one is over 2 inch. This is also a closed location where fossils from the Lutetian (middle eocene) were found. Many complete teeth altough there are also broken teeth in it. No junk. The last location (Antwerp) includes about 1,1 pound of teeth that were found in the Schelde in 1970. Most teeth are broken but there are some nice small ones in it (Notorynchus, Hastalis...). (No pictures yet). At last I will throw in some teeth from Cadzand/Breskens (The Netherlands). There are waaay to many teeth to take pictures of every single one of them, so I just took some pictures of some. If interested, Pm me and I will send you more pictures. I know the pictures aren't the best, but I don't have a camera and my smartphone don't want to cooperate with me. I'm looking for: -Fish -Anything insect -Anything dinosaur (no chunkosaur) - Fossils from Liaoning or similar locations in China - Trilobites - Permian/ Triassic reptiles (teeth,jaws, bones etc.) - Anything I don't have from the KemKem Beds. -All shark teeth that are at least as old as the Cretaceous. - Fossils from the Eocene of Morocco. - ...

Hi all, Found this little tooth hiding in between my pycndont fish teeth from Balegem. I quickly realized that this wasn't in the right place, and it reminded me of something else. So, is it maybe a very worn Nebrius thielensi? Or is it something else? It's from Balegem, Belgium (closed location). From the Lede Sand Formation. From the Lutetian stage of the Eocene (45 mya). Hi all! Here are three sharkteeth I have from Balegem, Belgium. The sharkteeth there are from the Eocene. Those will soon go into a trade, so I need to get an ID quickly! Right now, the ID I have is this (from left to right): Physogaleus latus, Lamna nasus, Jaekelotodus trigonalis. Are those ID correct? Best regards, Max

Hello! Looking through all my fossils, I found this thing at some point. It was in a small bottle with Ray teeth from Balegem (BE), a fossil location containing fossils (sharkteeth, ray teeth, fish teeth, and other marine material) from the Eocene (25-35mya).
