From the album: Galveston Fossils
Spotted this one at night - best way to beat the heat during the Summer, but makes hunting much more difficult than it already is in Galveston.-

Horse tooth? (Sorry if I’m asking in the wrong place, newbie here!)
Mom of finder posted a topic in Fossil ID
My son found this along the beach area along the Wando River on Daniel Island, SC, USA. (size reference is a USA penny which measures approx 19mm in diameter) He normally finds shark teeth at the various beaches around Charleston so this treasure really excites him, THANK YOU for all opinions, expertise, high-fives!- 3 replies

Need help identifying these fossils. They were found on beach in North Florida. Only 2 in my collection I cant seem to figure out. Help is appreciated! The 1st one is oval shaped and has to 2 close holes in the center of one side. flipped over the holes are on the outside of the circle. it is small so its hard to see in photo. The 2nd one I have found quite a few of these. (the one in my hand) They get from this size to about as large as a dime. The have a long pointed ridge down the center of it, and the underside kind of bowls inward.

Kiddo found this while looking for shells at the beach in the Southern Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia. Looks like driftwood, solid and heavy like rock. Weighs 19 grams and is approx 5cm x 3cm x ¾cm. I told her I would ask. She really hopes it's a bone fossil.

Plant or animal? Irregular part with bi lateral teeth found in Yucatán
BigNick posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi all! I found this today on the beach in Yucatan and can’t figure out what it is. It feels like bone and sounds like bone but the teeth are some what flexible. The teeth pattern and shape is irregular and one side seems to have been chopped off. Two local fisherman didn’t have a clue. I’m also not sure it was an animal by the way the teeth originate centered and think it was part of a plant. Does somebody have a clue? Thanks in advance! Niek- 7 replies

I just found this rock on the beach and I think it might be a Stormatolite. It also obviously could just be some water marks. I also thought it might be an ammonite due to it's round shape, but I don't think it is. So please let me know what do you think about this rock.

Hi, My son found this while wading calf deep at the beach on Friday. It was buried in the sand except for the point sticking up. He dug it out. He thought maybe some mammal vertebra? He's 15 and been collecting fossils since he was 3, and was EXTREMELY excited. Hoping someone may know something or even if it is a fossil. Location: Ponte Vedra Beach, FL St. Johns County found June 3, 2022

What are the fossil hunting laws at Capitola Beach in California?
DardS8Br posted a topic in Questions & Answers
What are the laws around collecting fossils in Capitola Beach, or really any beach in general in California? I want to go fossil hunting but I want to know what’s legal or what isn’t beforehand. -
Hello. My family found this on the beach in southern Oregon. We’re wondering what this fossil might be? It has texture to it that you can feel. And it’s pretty, my daughter described it as being lacy, almost like crochet stitches.

Hello fellow fossil fans, In this post I have a piece of bone I have found on zandmotor a few months ago. I know bone fragments are hard to ID. However I hope that perhaps because of its distinctive shape any of you could give me an idea of what it could be. thanks in advance!

Hello fellow fossil fans, recently I have been fossil hunting on zandmotor again. During this fossilize trip I found a piece of bone that bore a slight resemblance to a piece i never have been able to ID I found a few years ago. I put them next to eachother in this post. Any ideas? Thanks for looking,

I found this bone? on a beach walk this afternoon after a stormy couple of days weather. I'm not sure if it's a fossil but was wondered whether it could be a rostral node? Found on Branksome Chine Beach, Poole UK. Thanks in advance. -
Found on Brighton Beach in England. Salt Water, cold. The whole stone is about 8cm across and main circular shape has about 3cm diameter. It looks like it goes through the stone which is what was confusing me. Thanks

I’m new to the fossil community, and found a few sharks teeth on a beach in southern South Carolina USA. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on what species they may be from. I numbered the teeth in the pictures to avoid any confusion in the replies. Any help is much appreciated, thx.

Hello, I am a newbie writing from Florida, USA. However I’m inquiring about a fossil I discovered on a beach on Long Island, New York. I found it several decades ago. It was intact when I found it, however it was dropped by a child, damaging its integrity. I have retained the large pieces I could recover. In the meantime I’ve taken advantage of the ability to peek inside, in the hopes that will assist in identifying this object. Thank you for any information you can provide!

Hello, found this last Saturday at a beach in Galveston Island, Texas. Other fossils I’ve found there, are from the late Pleistocene (only around 20,000 years old). They come from the Beaumont Formation. I know this piece of bone is almost certainly from a fish. Does anyone recognize what bone this is, and from what species? It has a very weird shape, and something tells me that this is probably from a skull, possibly something similar to a sea robin skull plate. Measures around 4.75 cm (1.87 inches long)

Hello all, Found this on the Maryland side of Assateague Island National Seashore while fishing. Not sure what it is or if it's even a fossil. The grey matter is hard as a rock. Any help is appreciated. I can post more pics if needed after work. (Didn't think to put a ruler with it)
