Fossilized bone found on beach - marine mammal or other large land mammal? California Beach Find.

Thank you in advance for any help with an ID for this fossil. This is my second try on this forum - trying to follow more of the advice - thank you for your patience with my learning curve. Found on a beach in Northern California. Asked a friend who knows about marine mammals and fossils and he commented, "It doesn't remind me of a marine mammal, seems more like a mammoth or other large land mammal". From what I can see, it looks like part of a joint ... maybe the socket part of a ball and socket joint? I took another set of pictures using the handy centimeter graph paper.

Hello all, I'm brand new to the forum and was hoping for some help identifying this tooth. It was found on the beach by my daughter in Cabo Pulmo area of Baja Mexico. She's excited to find out of it's a sharks tooth. We were not able to find anything close to similar through an internet search. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Please help identify this tooth that was found on Ocean Isle, NC beach. There does look to be a notch at the top center of root. Thanks

Hi everyone! Looking for help in ID-ing a found object from the beach. We are absolutely bewildered as to what this is! details: -Found 1 hour north of Sydney, Australia on the beach -Heavy, fossilised object with very distinct “ribbon” like formation patter on end -texture is reminiscent of a claw or tusk -plaque-like material in crevices (it is not sand)

So I found this and it looks like a dolphin tooth, but it's my first time finding one so I was just looking for some confirmation and/or any more information that could be provided. This was found at the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC. In the past I've found a horse tooth, deer tooth, alligator tooth and am glad to be able to add another (non-shark) tooth to my collection of finds!

Fossils or geology - or both? / black stones on Antalya city beach

Well I don't expect these to be deeply Id'd but any information appreciated. I think they are likely fossils unless some interesting geological process caused them... Antalya city beach (S. Turkey, 36.8821897,30.6738092) There are two stones here, the first (9 pics) being rather random shapes, the second stone (last 3 pics) being entirely little circles. Some of the shapes seem rather broad and squared, others very long and narrow, and then the small circles... Many thanks in advance for enlightening me! David

Hello everyone, I was just walking the beach on the Adriatic coast in Croatia and I found this rock with a seashell imprint inside, I am wondering could this possibly be a fossil or just a regular part of a seashell, it still has parts of shell in it. The rock I thinks is limestone which is the most common here. I appreciate your answers.

Hello all! I am wondering if anyone can let me know if what I found is anything that belongs in this forum (a fossil) and if so, what it may belong to. I found this at a beach in Oahu near Honolulu. Outside of an interest in all things Dino (basic knowledge), I have never hunted for fossils and stumbled upon this in the hopes of finding a good shell or a shark tooth, but really know nothing. So any clarification is appreciated!

Hi again! Our recent beach vacation in Mexico made me remember a quick trip we had to Galveston about 3 summers ago. We found what we believed to be fossilized bone in the surf on Bolivar Peninsula in TX but never asked anyone to identify. After surfing through some pics here, could it be a vertebrae—with one side broken off? Ideas on the species?

Normally I’m just out grabbing shark teeth on Amelia. I’m getting decent at identifying the main common finds, but struggling with some of these odd shapes I see on and off. Hoping for some help learning about and identifying fossils. I’m a fossilnovice, so I apologize if this is just a collection of rocks lol.

Hello again! Yesterday’s finds we’re another learning experience but I AM learning, so here goes. Wife found this today on Venice Beach in Florida. It was deposited more-less at our feet by a wave (it’s choppy today.) I think it looks more like somebody dropped it and it’s a fake. Any thoughts? measurements in centimeters.

My first time posting here. Just found this unusual piece after a big storm and extremely high tide in Cape Canaveral, FL. Has several holes, two larger ones connect. Smaller pin size holes on bottom are not very deep. Also has a small curled up end, similar to a tail. I thought it was ivory, but it is such an odd shape. Maybe a natural pearl?

Hi all! Havent posted in awhile but have a massive number of fossils from trip my brother and I took to Colorado, Wyoming and Utah late summer. All still in boxes and more about that later, but, found this interesting "polished" piece on Myrtle beach this month. First thought was echinoid plate, but pretty thick for its size. the other side is slightly concave, has a central "opening" which enlarges but doesn't penetrate through. Marks are millimeters, so pretty tiny. Any and all thoughts appreciated! Bone

This summer I was helping a youth group from church on a camp. The trip was to Kodiak Island for a week. Got lucky and was able to convince the group that a road trip to a distant beach was in order for a bit. Drive about 4 hours for a 2 hour beach stop. Unfortunately for me I was limited on time, didn't have the right equipment, and was in someone else's rig. So I wasn't able to really explore and collect much. But I brought home 2 nice chunks of matrix with lots of shells. The site has limited scientific printed information that I have located. it is Miocene in age. Photos of 1 block I carried out and 1 exposed sand dollar on a different block I brought home as well.
