I would really appreciate any help identifying this (possible) fossil. My son found this blackened subject while he was digging on the beach of Texel, The Netherlands. It’s approximately 70mm long and looks fragmented, heavily eroded and feels solid. There’s a small hole in the top middle (approximately 3mm). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi all, Would be really grateful if anybody could help identify this fossil. The piece was found in South East England. Unfortunately the provenance is a bit murky but I believe it was claimed to have been found on a beach. Attached a series of (compressed sized) pictures showing the specimen from several angles with international scale

I found a bone fossil in Cancun at the hotel zone beach, after removing the limestone enclosing the bone. Could anyone help me identify which species this fossil is? Thanks!

Found these on a beach of a bay in Sussex county Delaware from Spring 2022 to present. 6 specimens total. #1 was super hard to photograph, did my best. #5 thought it would be easy to ID, was surprised to find a shell like that in the bay, but maybe it's from a decoration??? #6 thought maybe it was metal or part of something man-made, but feels like maybe? it's petrified. I'm purely an amateur, so just speculation. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I found these on the beach in The Netherlands. I would appreciate if someone would tell me if they are fossils or just rocks and what they are, if fossils. In the case of the sand dollars, I don't know if they are skeletons or fossils. They are hard and I can't break them. Thank you so much!

Hi I found this yesterday on the beach in Sidmouth, East Devon, UK It was nestled in the rocks and part of a longer specimen- I was intrigued so was feeling around it and all the sand around it was loose (tide coming in, rock pools) and this middle section just popped free! I didn't have any equipment and wouldn't know what to do anyway so I brought it home rather than leave it as it would have been lost to the sea! There are others around, visibly. I am not even sure that this is fossil vertebrae but wondered what you guys think as I have seen similar photos online before. It's a shame I couldn't extract the rest but it's all still there, firmly attached to the rock. Any thoughts? There is also a mini fossil (wood louse type shape) on one end. I have no knowledge whatsoever although I love fossils and have collected some over the years in the somewhat drier region of Provence, France! Initial photos on the beach, wet. The others on 5mm squared paper at home. I haven't cleaned it up yet...

Are these prehistoric horse bones? Found near teeth in rocky cliffs near Half Moon Bay
HMBfossils posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi - I found these today after a big storm very close to where I found some prehistoric horse teeth (or so I'm told) a few months ago. Oddly I found them in two different but close locations - same as the teeth. Anyone know what they are? Thanks!!! -
Hi Everyone, I am a noob to the fossil world but have always loved looking at different shells, rocks, formations and antiquities. On a recent beach holiday to Forster NSW, Australia, I can across this rock on Pebbly Beach. Can anyone clarify if this is a fossil and if so what sort? Thanks in advance for your insight. Stuart

Hi here is a rock from a beach in California. As you see it has lots of fossil shells and something else that is much bigger than shells. What is this something else? It is a microscopic image.

Hello everyone. I'm trying to figure out what these things are. I find them very regularly looking for shark's teeth on SE Florida beaches near Jupiter and Juno. My posted image has the front and back of a few different specimens, stark white and some grey. Does anyone know what these are? Thanks, TWB

My 7 year old daughter and I found this last week on West Runton beach near to where a fossilised woolly mammoth was found a few years back. Curious to know whether its an animal or vegetation/tree fossil, or just some sort of mineral deposit. Many thanks in advance.

Hello, I go hunting for unusual things every weekend in NE Florida. I have a small collection of things I have not identified. I believe the top row are all of the same material. I’ve tried to remove the sand that is encrusting them without too much luck. Any ideas? Thank you! Kristin

I found this peace of rock that looked, in my opinion like a piece of wood. It was found on beach known to have wood fossils. I want to make sure what it is and if it is just a rock.

Hi all. I found what I believe is a vertebra, but can't be 100% sure and what it may be from. I found in Holden Beach, NC today buried in a foot of water near low tide

Greetings all, I will be staying in Gulf Shores AL in March (9th-13th) and was wondering if anyone had any fossil hunting advice for the area? What laws do I need to remember? Best time to walk the beach for fossils? What kind of fossils are typically found there? Most of the info I've found is for creeks, but it's a beach trip with family. Thanks in advance!
