    Weirdly shaped rock or fossil

This was found on South Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Most of the piece is worn but there are some smooth surfaces. The shape is irregular. Is this a worn fossil or a weird rock?

    Curved Bone-claw? Hoof?

This was found recently on South Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. It looks like a bone but the curvature is more pronounced than what we usually find. It also has one end with more of a point. Any insight appreciated

    Large rock or fossil

I picked this up on the beach yesterday. It is heavy and has some characteristics of bone but internal structure is more rock-like. Would love help with identifying.

    Found at beach in Florida

Was walking along the beach near Clearwater, Florida and came across these items. Seems as though they are bone or fossilized bone? Totally unsure. Any insight would be helpful and greatly appreciated. I was completely stumped.

    Shark fragment?

I have lived in Wilmington NC recently moved to Myrtle Beach SC known for finding Meglodon and many other sharks teeth. I’ve found a few smaller teeth yet ran across this the other day. It looks to me like a fragment of a possible megalodon but I’m a newbie to this. It’s intriguing me tremendously! What’s your opinion?

    Large bone on SoCal beach

Found this beauty this morning on the Palos Verdes Peninsula beach in Southern California. Is this vertebrae? And if so, what animal? Specimen is probably five-six inches long, well worn, and marrow has been replaced by something else- tar, perhaps? One end is rounded, while the other appears sort of tripod shaped. Thanks for any input! Melanie

    Found this on the beach

Found this while going through shells on the beach. I'm thinking it's a shark tooth but the cracks/splits on one side is confusing me. Tried to search and Google came up with a fossil so I decided to post here. Thanks in advance!

    Tilly bone or coprolite?

Hi all, I found this on Matoaka Beach, Calvert Cliffs, Mayrand. Sorry I don't have a ruler with the image - as you can see it is quite small - about 15mm Thanks, Tom
  14. Hello! I am a high school science teacher from North Carolina, USA. I recently visited Cape Lookout, NC, which is part of the Outer Banks. I found both of these fossils on the beach and am wondering what they might be. I want to have some kind of ID in mind when I show my students. I have no idea what geologic time period they are from. The first one appears to be a rib or long bone fragment. Possibly from a Sirenian or a Cetacean. It has some weird weathering on one side that almost looks like bite marks. The second one appears to be a fragment either from some large animal's skull or maybe a piece of a large turtle/tortoise shell. These are only guesses, please let me know if you have any idea what these may have belonged to, and if the weird weathering pattern might actually be bite marks. I have several other beach finds that I would love some help identifying if this post goes well. Thank you in advance!
  15. Hello! I have found these fragments on the beach over the years in North Carolina. I don't remember exactly which beach each one came from, possibly the Fort Macon area. I think they are all pieces of turtle or tortoise shells, but if anyone can help pinpoint these any further that would be cool! Thanks!
  16. Hello, I found this fossilized bone on the beach on Tybee Island, GA while looking for shark teeth. It looks like a tiny alligator or snake head but I'm guessing it's not. Any help to ID would be greatly appreciated! The first pic is the top of it, second is it flipped over. Thank you for any help!

    Unknown beach find

I found this on a beach in Prince Edward Island, Canada and i’m trying to identify it. I haven’t weighed it, but I’m estimating around 10 pounds, and also has a bit of a waxy feel. Any ideas?

    Fossil, pottery, or something else?

Found on Assateague Beach just after low tide, buried in the sand and surf. Initial thought was marine vertebrae, but close inspection also looks like very old pottery? I can upload video if that helps. Your thoughts are much appreciated!

    Help with Tooth ID

This weekend we were at the beach looking for shells and I came across this tooth? Any help with ID? I can't find anything similar in the Florida Fossil Guides, and searching for Tooth ID in florida mainly comes up with Shark Teeth... Location: Volusia County, Florida - Atlantic Coast Beach Scale is in Centimeters
  21. Found at Sandy Hook in the Atlantic Highlands area on a bay side beach.. any thoughts? I haven't done the tongue test, but it does seem to 'stick' to a damp finger.

Stumbled across this large potential fossilized bone on a beach walk today. Any ideas on what animal it could be from? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Shoe in one photo for size reference.
