It was a warm Christmas Eve down in South Texas (Bexar County). I was home from school, bored, and looking for things to do. So, I decided to go out and dig for some fossils. I went down to my spot that I have been going to for many years. This spot always has something for me to find, and this time was no different. After about 15 minutes of looking, I found what I was looking for, an ammonite. As to what species this ammonite is I haven't a clue. If any of yall have some idea as to what species it is please fill me in. I found it in either Buda limestone or the Austin Chalk. I also found what I think is a Eutrephoceras nautiloid over the summer from this exact same spot. It took me two days to get this bad boy out of the rock layer, but it was so worth it. The reason being was that it was pretty much a complete nautiloid. This nautilus was found in either Buda limestone or the Austin Chalk as well. Any other information that you guys and gals care to share is always welcome. Thanks, Walk

I found this in a wash that I believe cuts through or has cut through several layers of limestone. I am hoping someone can tell me what it is, what layer of limestone someone would expect to find this, and how old it is. Also, is it common to find these in San Antonio and is this one in decent shape. I really appreciate your help! It reminds me of a really old conch!

I came across this interesting find but I am unable to identify it. I found it in a stream bed in Bexar County. A member with the Southwest Gem and Mineral Society in San Antonio thinks that it could be a fossil lizard but he is not sure. It is roughly 2" x 1" and has a hollow opening on the inside that extends for about 1/2". Any ideas? Thanks, Andre
