I found this Duck Creek Eopachydiscus ammonite back in March or April, east of Benbrook Lake in Tarrant county Tejas. . I forgot it was under my sink..lol! Any idea whether this missing chunk can be attributed to a bite mark or is it more likely from something else that crushed it? I’ve tried to provide various photos to see indentations that might give clues. If it’s nothing special, it’s going to become plastered into part of someone’s home entry display, otherwise I’ll keep it. 😆

Hey gang, Going thru chucking things out of the garage piles and noticed this good sized, highly weathered chunk of bone which has some parallel grooves/marks that I'm interpreting as possible shark bites. Want to confirm that assumption and ask if that is the case, could the upper 3 somewhat parallel lines and the 2 lower lines be single bites showing 3 teeth and 2 teeth respectively? The one mark on the upper left seems to be slightly curved so would that be consistent with a different angle/different shaped tooth position? Just wondering what you all think? Regards, Chris

From the album: Permian
I commonly see bite marks on many of these fossils. Some like those on this Orthacanthus cusp were likely made by serrations raking across the surface.-

From the album: Dinosaurs
This is likely a Tyrannosaur tooth mark on an indeterminate dinosaur rib section (from Hell Creek Fm., Harding Co., SD, USA), similar to those described in Longrich et al. (2010):-

I'm wondering if anyone might be able to determine if these looks like bite marks. I have an unidentified chunk of dino bone that bears what resembles teeth marks that I have seen on other specimens. Anyone have experience identifying these? Do these look like teeth marks?

I thought some of you may find this interesting. This is an Ichthyosaur paddle digit that looks like there could be a tooth hole in the middle. This could have happened during life or after it had died and then been scavenged on the seabed. Of course there could be another explanation that it has been crushed during fossilisation, but this doesnt look like the usual crushed type specimins i’ve found. Wondered what your thoughts are? Found in Whitby, Yorkshire. Normal looking side Bitten? Side

Hey all, Can anyone help me ID this fossil? It was found at an antique store with no information. Its density and coloration really reminds me of something from out west, like Hell Creek or Lance Creek. There's also a a semi-circle pattern of holes towards one end that reminds me of a crocodile's bite. Any thoughts on the possible ID or if its something besides a croc bite?

Hello all. I recently obtained this big Lytoceras sp. from Belmont D'azerques (France) I don't think this is a bad fossil for 10 dollars. Now, when I looked better I saw a big scratch. Could this be a bite mark? The scratch is 5cm long and 1 cm wide. The ammonite is Toarcien in age. Greetings

I'm looking for the collective experience of this group to help me determine if this is a bone fragment with a bit mark in it. Or is it just a rock. Here's several photos of the piece in question. Hopefully the quality is sufficient to make a determination.

I found this last Friday. It's unusually large fossil for my area. It was found in creek gravel bar so is difficult to pin down formation. It may even have tumbled down from Permian which is only mile and a half upstream. It has what looks a bite mark across the side. The reverse of detailed side has been worn off.
