This is a Big Brook, NJ find in Feb. 2019. I'm new and still trying to figure out fossil from non-fossil. I thought this looked like a piece of bone.

I bought this claw a little while ago, for close to nothing. Still waiting for the item to arrive. Not sure what it is from though. It was dug up in Hell Creek. The claw and bone measure about an inch in length in total. Anyone who would have a qualified guess?

Brand new to the site but I've been fossil hunting around Texas for years. I've mainly found shark teeth and shells but never a bone. I Found this in a creekbed in Bandera TX sticking out from the bank. Its not very heavy for the size but the exposed end is fairly brittle. Any thoughts or knowledge shared is greatly appreciated! I have more pics but could not upload them.

I found these two rarther worn bones in the same spot afew weeks apart in Yorkshire. I’m thinking broken humerus and any suggestions on the other bone are welcome, guessing some other part of the paddle. Not sure if it looks right for the radius or ulna though. (humerus) bottom bit worn away and top where the other paddle hones go. Other bone of similar quality and condition.

I saw this bone for sale from Oxfordshire. It was labelled Juratyrant pelvic bone, which is very rare, could it be something else?

I went fossil hunting at the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas, today and found two relatively small vertebrae and an interesting bone shard that I would love to have identified. As far as I know, the fossils from around this area are typically from the Upper Cretaceous period, though fossils from different time periods have been found here. If you would please help me identify these fossils, that would be great!

Greetings, all. Recently a friend gave me a rather large chunk of fossil bone from the Shark Tooth Hill area of Bakersfield. While originally we thought it might be a rib bone, I now think that it being so straight for the length it is, as well as the larger radius, that it might be a piece of a jawbone. Perhaps a partial jaw of a Miocene baleen. Mysticete? Perhaps there's no way to tell? Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks ahead of time. Cheers.

Hello, I was just traveling for a while and I was in the Rocha Department of Uruguay an area north east of Montevideo on the coast. I was walking along the severe hightide line of the shore just in front of a formation of a large sand dune area. I came across this what I think to be bone but potentially an antler. Uruguay was home to many Miocene Mammals and other fauna. Any ideas what this may be from from? Hard and heavy stone sounding when tapped. Marrow fossilized within perhaps. Any help is much appreciated! Patrick

I like collecting fossils, but I usually am not sure what my finds are. Please, could you help me identify these fossils? I noted down some possibilities down below. 1 - could be a late Albian ammonite from central Serbia, but I am not entirely sure. Acquired in Serbia. 2 - Found at Southerndown, Wales. Could it be a tree root or something in the region of that? It has a cross-hatched pattern if you look closely. 3 & 4 - A shell I found at Penarth, Wales but I am not entirely sure what it is called. 5 - A bone I found in the mud at Tites Point, Severn, Gloucestershire. maybe a birds? 6 - Some shells I found in mudstone at Charmouth, England. Was found in the same stone as 7. 7 - wood I found at Charmouth? It was very crumbly and delicate. 8 - A Trilobite fragment possibly, Llanfawr quarries, Wales. 9 - A bivalve I found in Southerndown. Not sure what it is though.

Hi all! Some time ago a friend of mine found what seems to be a turtle bone at Yaverland (Isle of Wight - UK) along with some eroded fish and crocodile remains. Honestly, we have no idea about this small isolated bone. We'd be very grateful if you could help us. Thanks in advance.

Ive had this chunk of bone that I found in North Carolina's GMR for a while and haven't been able to come up with any ideas to what it might be from. It looks like it was sawed into two pieces at one point in time. Im not sure if its more likely to be a land animal or something marine since there is a little bit of everything in GMR. I didn't have a ruler on hand at the time of taking the photos but it is about 2 1/2" wide and about 3" long. Any help would be appreciated!

I recently found this bone at Aust Cliff. When I was removing it from the matrix the bone broke into many small sections as well as two larger sections. In the dome shaped display there're the fragments that broke off, in the low quality blurry picture there is the matrix and the other one is the two large fragments. Can anyone ID the bone, thanks in advance. I am afraid I can't take any other pictures of the bone because it is too fragile.

Hi All, I'm looking for some help to try and better ID this bone I collected on a Hell Creek Microsite last Summer. This was only an isolated bone and as you can see isn't complete. The length of the bone is just under 10" and the width is 4" at it's narrow point. It's a fairly flat bone with curved-edges on both sides. It's also hollow as you'll see from the photos of the end. The owner of the ranch said it had a very similar pitting on the surface to other t-rex bones they'd found on the site. This microsite produces plenty of T-rex, Nano, Hadrosaur and Triceratops material. It might of course be impossible to ID due to it's incomplete nature. It is however a pretty large chunk of bone so there are only a few bones that it could be. I was thinking it could be part of a theropod scapula due to the flat near-rectangular shape of this. Any thoughts? Tom

I found a sawfish rostrum a while ago, and today I found this piece of bone, it was found in the same location. Abu Dhabi, UAE The bone is slightly curved, I think it might be the filled canal of a sawfish rosstrum, but I might be wrong. I would like to hear from you guys.

I had to work in Pamlico Co. NC today. While at the Dawson creek bridge I ran across a couple of piles of material like they have at the fossil museum. I couldn’t spend much time picking but it was fun for a few minutes.

Hi hoping someone can help before my daughter takes these to school. We went fossil hunting by the river Severn in Aust England and found the pictured. I can see a fossil on the right (not sure what) but the larger area in the picture really looks to be something! It’s part hidden by the rock and has a slight sort of shine to it?! Could it be a fossil and could it be bone? Would be so grateful if someone could help thanks

Hello all- I may have posted asking about this piece before but cannot find the post here, so maybe it was another forum. Can someone help identify. I bought this along with another similar looking bone that was from a Mosasaurus here in Texas, though this smaller piece is darker in color and not from the same specimen. Hope someone can help. I found this a few days ago along the Virginia side of the Potomac River along a miocene cliff. It's mostly if not all Choptank formation. Any ideas about a genus? Grid is in inches. Looks like maybe mature dolphin tailbone, but it's so small???
