Found this in the selsey formation of lachmoor brook in the new forests, It looks like some kind of bone however is made out of a granular type material. I have had a few opinions however the general consensus is that it is not turtle. Anyone on here have any ideas?

I’m completely clueless when it comes to fossils of any kind. I’m just wondering if this is possibly a bone or petrified wood. It’s heavy and feels more like stone than anything else. It was found in Alberta near Edmonton. Thanks

Fossilized or recent bone (?) found on French coast, Normandy
Suchomimus posted a topic in Fossil ID
G'day, I found the following specimen among the stones while walking on the beach of Mesnil-Val (Criel-sur-Mer, Seine-Maritime, France) at low tide, below the cliff. Although I do not know much about the geology of this location, I have heard that you can find fossils here. Nonetheless, this piece was more likely left by the sea, I think. Neither do I know what it is, nor how old it is. Due to the inner structure I am thinking of a partial mammal bone, but it might be the wrong direction. Not sure how exactly a washed up recent bone looks like. This specimen is worn on the outer surface, but apart from a wave-like structure on the inner surface, there are some very fine, spongy structures preserved, too (that is why I think it is a bone, one that is not too old). Even though it is hollow, the specimen is relatively solid. Maybe someone has found something similar or recognizes something. I am thankful for any input! The ruler is in centimetres. -

Maybe it’s nothing but this rock bone thing is weird and I kept it in case it’s anything significant. I found it on the beach today in seaside, oregon. I found it high in the sand above the tide line in an area with tons of rocks. I can’t scratch anything off with my nail , it is porous. It’s not light like I would expect it to be if it were wood. Any ideas?

We were geode hunting near Mississippi river at Illinois Iowa border. Found lots of nice yet small geodes & this. It looks like a vertebrae bone? Or some kind of bone. Was at the same level of the rock bed as the geodes. I try to show measurements in pics. Its skinnier on one end than the other & "slopes" a little? Any ideas? Could it be a dinosaur bone?

Hello there! I found this "Bone/Fossil?" on the beach in Longs SC. Any help with the identification or classification of this would be fantastic! Thanks again, ABC

I bought this very, very cheap from someone who claims it came from the Hell Creek formation. They both claim it to be a triceratops fragments and hadrosaur. They found it in the 90s. That is all the information I have unfortunately. I have my doubts that it is even bone. Any help to identifying at, the very least, if this is even bone would be awesome. If this is bone I do not expect a proper identification of species because it's so small. Thanks in advance. Note: I did my best with the magnifying shots, my hands shook a bit. Also I might have posted this to the wrong forum. Sorry about that. Edited to remove ramblings.

Hi all the imaginative one back again This time I am curious as to wether this could be a fossil replacement opal? The photos are not very good because it is quiet small, possibly about the size of a pea. The play of colour in this little thing is absolutely amazing! Every single colour on the spectrum from common blues and greens to beautiful orange, red and yellow. It was found in lightning ridge Australia in a $5 lucky dip bag my kids got. To me it looks like a piece of spine or tail bone but once again i love to imagine! Very excited to hear what you all think... They may say that I am a dreamer.... But I am not the only one!

Hi can anybody help me? I found this on a beach washed up in Achill Island in County Mayo, West Ireland. Its about 400mm wide and 300mm long (don't have a tape measure on holiday). There are two cilindercal channels through the bone. I know the island was famous for basking shark sightings. Also the odd fin whale and dolphins. Hope this information helps. Thanks Josh

Kiddo found this while looking for shells at the beach in the Southern Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia. Looks like driftwood, solid and heavy like rock. Weighs 19 grams and is approx 5cm x 3cm x ¾cm. I told her I would ask. She really hopes it's a bone fossil.

Hello everyone, I would like to know what this Fossil might be. I thought it looked a bit similar to a whale hearing bone, but not as much that I could be certain. The Fossil was found in the north of Germany, near the Baltic sea. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you very much in advance. Greetings Lukas

Found this rock.bone in Venice, FL. It strikes me as organic but the top portion I expect to be a socket of sorts seems like a mess for a bone. Any ideas? Approx 4 in long by 2 in long at the “socket”
