Sorry I have been crazy busy lately and unable to post. Here's a few of Northeast Texas finds my last couple of trips. Pleisosaur partial girdle, silver spoon, artifacts, xiphactinus tooth, mosasaur verts, old door knob, enchodus jaws, old hard hat, old bottles, ammonite, exogyra and my first crocodile scute.

I took a one hour detour on my way home from work today and hit a tiny secluded creek that I hunt on occasion. I only had 30 minutes to hunt but I walked up on nice little mosasaur tooth and a killer hundred year old whiskey bottle in great shape.

After taking a little time off from hunting due to a new job and holidays I decided to hit the North Sulphur River with a friend. We had a great day. I love the Tylosaur scapula with shark bites. We found a large Xiphactinus washing out and ended up with one left maxilla and three verts from it. We will go back and check that area again.

My 29th trip to Big Brook may well have been my best yet. Instead of my two usual entry points I entered by an unnamed tributary I found on a map. It was small and narrow and overgrown and clearly not the “road” most traveled. Probably the least shark teeth I’ve ever found: photo of 5 below. Picked up several broken bottle bottoms with writing which I get a kick out of including an unbroken Vicks Vaporub! I found a bunch of bone most of which I probably deer but the dark wide one is likely not. Below is a photo of what I think is the first bear footprint I’ve ever seen there. Probably wrong but it had me looking around! Photo of what Of what I thought were an Enchodus jaw and two teeth and a large crab claw but am waiting for help on the ID where I’m being told maybe something’s even better. Picked up a whole bunch of “maybes” which I need to take a closer look at. And finally I got to cross one off my BUCKETLIST!!!! My first arrowhead (have also been told it could be a knife but either way yeah). May well be my last trip for months because my feet despite 3 pairs of socks plus waders were still painfully cold. But if so it will have been a great way to close out my first year of fossil hunting and I am absolutely hooked.

saturday was my 8th trip to Big Brook and came away with shark teeth, a (modern) deer jawbone, a Jergens Lotion glass bottle (1970s?) and a really cool iridescent rock the likes of which i've never seen there before. And possibly a lobster fossil.

Fun North Sulphur River Texas hunt today. The Plesisoar podial is huge. The mosasuar jaw section has teeth hidden under the red matrix. The big mosasaur cervical vert is in great shape.

Long nine hour freezing hike in Northeast Texas. The partial mastodon tooth and tylosaur jaw section with replacement tooth were the highlights of my day. I dated the old soda bottle to the 1950's. The artifacts were a nice bonus.

I spent a few hours each at the North Sulphur River Texas and Post Oak Creek Texas. I had a nice variety of cretaceous finds.
