Can't seem to figure this one out. Large vertebrae found in Oklahoma. Any help on identifying these?

I'm still having trouble distinguishing bison and cow calcanea even with some of the great line drawings that various members have provided. Here are two that look very similar to me except for the size. Are they both cow, bison or are there differences I'm overlooking? couple more shots

Found all 3 of these under the peace river bridge, after Irma. All within a ft of each other, no other associated bones. Don't seem quite fossilized, cow? Thanks!

I thought these were horse teeth, but after some poking around I'm thinking they're bison teeth. Please, help with identification and geological era. I'm starting with photos of the two that look like bone, in what stage I don't know, but do have three more (one large and two small) that I believe to be completely fossilized teeth from the same animal. All were found in Bucks County, Carversville exactly, in or near a creek bed at the bottom of a ridge of cliffs, which, we've been told, is a very special geological location where finds are not typical of the surrounding area. Because I could not wait to get another photo with a point of reference for size, I must include my best estimation from memory: the larger piece is approximately 2" long and 1/2-3/4" deep and not quite 1 1/2" wide The smaller of the two pieces can be referenced by the larger, but is about the size of my index finger from the first knuckle to top. I'll wait to post the photos of the possible complete fossilized pieces, I'm sure I will need to be more diligent including all needed info in the photos I choose to post. For now, I hope this is enough, do tell!

Hi all, A few months ago I was fossil hunting by the Republican River in NE Kansas when I found part of an upper jaw washed up on a sandbar. From it I got 3 teeth, and I am trying to determine weather they are bison or cow. Two of these exhibit a separate, distinct stylid. However the third, which is by far the most worn down, seems to have an integrated stylid. I've seen a few pictures of bison teeth whose stylists are not completely separate from the rest of the tooth, but I don't know if that's truly indicative of not being a bison tooth. Any help is appreciated, thanks all!

Hello, please help me identify this bone. I believe it is bovine because I have found numerous modern bovine teeth (most likely cow) in the river where I hunt for fossils. Any idea on what bone it is? The bone is about 5 inches long. I can provide more pictures if needed. Thank you!

Hi all, found this vertebra in the Kansas River today on a sandbar. I've found everything from Pleistocene bone fragments to half-mineralized cow bone here before, but nothing of this size. It could have belonged to a cow, but I think it's a bison considering the amount of mineralization and general shape. I could use your help identifying this one! PS it is about 6 inches high, the spinous process is about 3 inches high and has been chipped across the top. It has also not been cleaned too well, hence some of the brown dirt color. I found this in a gravel bed at Greens Mill Run (GMR) Yesterday afternoon. I am thinking it's Bison, but would like confirmation and also assistance with which species and possible age. It's fossilized (tinks like a rock when tapped on a metal shovel) so I want to assume it's not modern but I suppose I cannot rule out the possibility of it being colonial? the range/mix of material at GMR might make this difficult - as I found it with shark teeth and whale bone much like everything else - even horse teeth.

Hi guys, I found these earlier today on a creek bed in NE Kansas. I think it's a somewhat old bison upper jaw ( part of it broke)...but it could be an old cow as well. There was also another interesting thing I found, in not sure what it is. I'll try upload more pics later.

Fabulous find this site AND this tooth in a present day Minnesota cow pasture on a receded and much eroded creek bank\bed. Love these unexpected treasures but am clueless as to possible identity or age. It's about an inch high and wide. Pics are taken on only option I have, a tablet so I apologize for quality but sure appreciate any thoughts or opinions.

Can anybody identify this tooth and its approximate age? I'm pretty sure it's a bovine tooth. It was found about 15-20 feet into the surf off the beach at Dauphin Island, AL. I was digging shells and such out from under the sand (under about 2 feet of water) and found this (about 4 inches under the sand under the water) along with the shells I was digging up. It looks to be modern given its condition, but then I'm not sure if this could be from being buried under sand and ocean as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This tooth was found by a culvert near (NE) Webster, SD. I think it is a cow molar, but would anyone have any idea of which one and it's age? Thanks!

This section of jaw was found a few months ago in the cut bank of a creek in Austin, TX, nearly 15 feet below the top of the soil. I spent an hour removing the jaw from the overburden, and thought I got everything that was there. A recent return to the spot proved me wrong - much of the remainder of the skull is now visible, though I was unable to collect it at the time. If it's a modern bovine jaw, I will let the creek have it. But if it's something more interesting, it may be time to put the waders back on. Only the depth of the soil above it made me think it could be old. What do you think?
