From the album: Brachiopods of Platteville/Decorah Twin Cities Minnesota
All sources had says there are only two genus of the family of this particular brachiopod and Protozgya and Rostricellula is listed for Platteville Formation. Protozyga is too different and much weaker ribs structures by comparations.-

From the album: Brachiopods of Platteville/Decorah Twin Cities Minnesota
Those are the closest specimen I could find that I think is Anazyga lebanonensis. Described as longer in length than the other two Anazyga species from Decorah Formation.-

Dear fellow TFF members, I recently acquired this brachiopod and was wondering if anyone could help me with identification. I know not having a location will make the process of identifying nearly impossible but I thought I would give it a shot. Thank you for your assistance. It measures about 2 cm across.

Distinctive Permian Brachiopod from Arctic Canada
Brachioman posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
This nice Permian Brachiopod has a very large apsacline ventral interarea and is called Arctitreta triangularis. It is from the Assistance Formation in the Artinskian of Devon Island in Canada. It is related to Schuchertella and the more common Streptorhynchus. Does anyone else have any interesting Brachiopods from the Permian?- 6 replies

This unusual Brachiopod is Leptodus nobilis. During the Permian there were many examples of 'experimental' Brachiopod genera. This genus, in life, had a greatly reduced valve which exposed the brachidium which supported the lophophore, and so we see the inner workings of this animal. In the picture are two specimens, each about 6cm. X 3cm. They are from the Lower Kamiyase Formation, Kesen-numa City, Honshu, Japan. Quite rare fossils, I think.

Fossil hunting trip to Matlock, Derbyshire, UK
Brachioman posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
The Brachiopod here is Gigantoproductus giganteus - well named, as it is the largest species in my extensive collection. The coin is about 2cm. in diameter. The age of this fossil is Lower Carboniferous ( Mississippian).- 9 replies

So I'm having trouble identifying this fossil. It's from the bartonian of northern spain. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of brachiopod but I could be wrong. I don't know if any of you could help me with species category too (although I know it would be difficult considering how badly preserved it is)
