    Brachiopod Burrows?

Found in Southern Ontario, late Ordovician. Would these be the fossilized burrows of the Brachiopods? Or just odd erosion? Note the trace fossils around the "Burrows".

    Brachiopods from Morocco

Please tell me what brachiopods are these? They come from Morocco, Devonian-Carboniferous. Thank you!

A bunch of old collection unknowns

Hello, Here are a bunch of old collection fossils that have me stumped...almost no info on provenance so tricky, but I'm hoping I can get at least a fossil identity for them if possible. There are 13 in total, here goes: 1. Crustacean/brachiopod steinkern? 2. Crustacean? Brachiopod? 3. Is this a coral? 4. No clue...thought orthocone but seems too thin? 5. No clue 6. Thought some sort of echinoderm but almost looks six-sided? Reminds me of a construction nut used for screws. 7. Some sort of brachiopod? 8. This seems like a trilobite pygidium, appears to be on a white block of matrix? Any guesses as to specific ID? 9. These seem echinoderm. The one with the protrusion in the center might be an echinoid plate, the rest crinoid plates? 10. I'm guessing these are echinoid spines 11. Looks like some heteromorphic ammonite sections. The one on the right with a double row of tubercles might be Nostoceras or Didymoceras? 12. I'm pretty sure these are Conulariids but does the preservation inform the provenance or ID further? EDIT: one more: 13. Orthocone? Thanks!

    Indiana crinoid? Brachiopod?

Hello, Some help with another unidentified piece please. The seller's label is "Crinoid (?) - central Indiana, Mississippian ~340 mya", but I don't see any ossicles or radial symmetry. A flattened brachiopod perhaps? Measures ~2cm.
  6. I found these while on a trek uphill. I’ve posted it on different sites but no one can give a positive ID on my finds. Location is Cebu, Philippines by the way. Always been curious about how the ocean life was here millions of years ago as most studies indicate that the Philippine archipelago was submerged in water. For more angles, click on that imgur link as I have labelled those there.
  7. I'm not totally sure what I got here, some friends said the first few are Crinoid segments and a brachiopod, but aren't sure of the last one, I think might be another part of a Crinoid, but not sure. If so, how old could that make them? Any thoughts? I find them in flint, I believe.
  8. Total fossil newbie here. A few weeks ago while running, I randomly noticed a weird rock that I thought might be a fossil, and some nice folks here helped me ID it as crinoidal sandstone with a few brachiopod impressions. I figured it was a one-time thing, but when I ran the same route today, I could help but keep an eye out and was shocked to find , now that my brain is primed to see them, that the ground in that area is just littered with crinoids and brachiopods. I've been running right over them on almost a weekly basis for a couple of decades without ever noticing. I know these are probably boring fossils for most of you, but I still find them fascinating. I have a couple of questions about a few details on these that I hope someone will answer. Here's a few general photos of them. I know the one is crinoid pieces. I think the other is a brachiopod - is this correct? And the few details: is this part just a side view of a crinoid stalk, or is it something else? And this - another part of a crinoid? Or something else? And finally, from the one I think is a brachiopod, it looks like there might be an impression of something else just above it (closup below). Is this something? Or just a feature of the rock? Thanks for any help!

    identification:)

Hey! I'm new to this, but I'm trying to identify this fossil. I think it is a brachiopod, but I could be wrong. It is 20mm wide. Do you have any idea about the species/genus/time period of it? - I would love to learn a bit more about it! Thanks in advance

    Lake Michigan Brachiopod?

I found this little half-shell in SE WI. I think it is a brachiopod, but am not entirely sure. Originally it was more thickly encrusted, but I've given it a vinegar bath for about 2 days, and more details have now become visible. It is currently back in fresh vinegar, in the hope more of the crusty layers will dissolve. I would appreciate your help with identifying the shell and also its interior visible parts if possible. For example, none of the anatomy drawings shows interior "separation walls" such as I see here. And specifically, what is that thick appendix sticking out the side of the shell? Its end looks like fossilized soft tissue to me. Is this the pedicle? If not, what is it? If yes, I thought soft tissue barely ever gets preserved? Interior Side view

    Devonian fossil shell

So I've been working on exposing this crinoid, and there's this shell under it that I'm just not sure what it is. It's from Sylvania, Ohio and it's Devonian. Anyone know? Any help appreciated! Thanks.
