Took this picture about a year ago. I was exploring the shoreline on Denman Island. Group I was with was calling me back to leave when I saw this between some boulders. Snapped a few pictures because I thought it looked interesting. Wasn't sure if this could be a fossil, or maybe a concretion? Didn't have time to measure or get any closer for better photos, but it was thicker than a forearm and around the same length. Anyway, this is something I found online about the area if its useful. Hello, first post here! I found this strange object at low tide on the shore of the Fraser River in British Columbia, Canada, just near the Agassiz bridge. I have no idea what it might be, but it appears to be at least partially composed of some sort of mineralized strands with what might have once been mud stuck into the crevices. It has been thoroughly cleaned, so everything you see here is rock, not dirt.
