    Looking for trilobites

Hi everybody. This year i decided to try new sites to find trilobites. I firstly decided to try a site in the Pyrénées, maybe those who love cyclism and the Tour de France will have heard about the Col d'Aspin and Col du Tourmalet. At the Col d'Aspin, altitude 1489 meters, the landscape is fantastic, green with great trees. The landscape is fantastic, but the trilos didn't show up. Maybe the next time will i be more successful. The only fossil i found is that tiny item, less than a centimeter at the widest. So we decided to head up here, at the observatory of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre : At the foot of that Pic lies the ski station of La Mongie and, above the station, the Col du Tourmalet. There was no fossil to find here, only little cristallizations And an unexpected herd of Llamas The point of view is great

    latest trilo preps

Hi there, Latest preps : trilobites from Brittany ordovician. The Neseuretus was collected in décember, kinda last hunts we could manage before more lockdown, i didnt think it would turn out that nice. The second one, was waiting on the shelf for quite a while, despite it only needed a small preparation and is a positive and negative Eodalmanitina sp.

    Ammonites from northern France

I bought a group of ammonites recently and they were described as coming from the Brittany coast of northern France. I don't know a lot about fossil sites along the French coast but after a little digging I came to the conclusion these probably came from sites nearer Normandy. I asked the seller for further information but sadly the person who collected them has passed away. I thought I'd post a few pics here in the hope that someone might be able narrow down the locality a little further. Thanks in advance for any help!

    overwhelmed

Hi all Never thought i would happen to say that, but this week end i put a final effort into cleaning trilos i picked during winter season and i have to admit it : I'm overwhelmed with trilos. Some of the visits had been the most productive i made and even if you dont come home with the quantity, there's always something to make the trip worth. Most of the best pieces had already made it to the shelves, i posted some in earlier topics. So a big part of what i finished are B grade samples. Some have their head more or less disarticulated, some the pygidium missing or damaged. So heres the group view of what i more or less finished over the past two weekends. I ll keep posting in this thread, the most noticable stuff once i got the pictures sorted, so stay tuned.
