Hi TFF friends, Went to Cadzand for the first time and found this mammal tooth. Not an expert at all, looks like a carnivorous mammal tooth, maybe a molar? Thought about pinniped tooth. Does anybody know what it could be? Many thanks by advance

Hi guys, not too sure how reliable the provenance on this is but it’s supposedly from cadzand, Netherlands, I got it in a lot of dolphin tooth, but the serration reminded me of squalodon which it obviously isnt but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas

Id requested: Shark Teeth from Cadzand, NL (Eocene - Plio/Pleistocene)
ziggycardon posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi, I recenty acquired a bulk of shark teeth found on the beaches of Cadzand, The Netherlands. I think there are around 200 - 300 shark, ray and fish teeth in the bag ranging in age from the Eocene up to the Plio/Pleistocene. A large chunk of the teeth are common species like C. hastalis, Brachycarcharias lerichei & Striatolamia macrota teeth. But there are a few I am not sure about and some I don't even a clue about, so I was hoping some people here might help me out confirm my ID. Thank you in advance! All the ray teeth in the bunch Most of the cowshark teeth in the bunch, I think all of these might be Notorynchus primigenius from the miocene & pliocene Tooth 1: 3 teeth which I believe these are upper jaw teeth of Notorynchus primigenius Tooth 2: A cowshark that looks a little different than the rest, might this be a Hexanchus griseus tooth? (Miocene/Pliocene) Tooth 3: The largest tooth of the bunch, due to it's size I am not really sure to which species it might belong, although I believe it might be a large Sand Tiger tooth. Is it an Araloselachus vorax or do Striatolamia macrota & Isurolamna affinis get this big? Tooth 4: a small tooth with large cusps, only one like it in the bunch, the preservation typical of the eocene teeth from this location so I am guessing it is Eocene in age. But I don't really have a clue for the ID Tooth 5: Galeocerdo sp? Physogaleus secundus? Galeorhinus sp? Tooth 6: I am leaning towards either Anomotodon novus or Sylvestrilamia teretidens Tooth 7: Galeocerdo sp. or Physogaleus secundus Tooth 8: Odontaspis winkleri Tooth 9: worn Physogaleus secundus Tooth 10: Physogaleus secundus? Galeorhinus sp? Tooth 11: Abdounia recticona Tooth 12: Brachycarcharias lerichei Tooth 13: Physogaleus secundus or an Abdounia sp? Tooth 14: Physogaleus secundus? Galeorhinus sp? Tooth 15: I am pretty convinced this is an Eotrigonodon serratus tooth -

Last week I had a great time to hunt in the Netherlands/Belgium for shark teeth. I was mainly at a good site near Antwerp but those finds I will post in the next days. What i want to show you here are the teeth and other things, which I found on various beaches there. For example i was in Cadzand or in Vlissingen. Too bad the shark teeth dont really have a good quality but nonetheless I am happy with my finds But pictures say more than words... Zwarte Polder: There its very difficult to find shark teeth with a good quality and the beach is often full with tourists. The fossiliferous sand comes from the Westerscheide so from eroding layers underwater. The fossils come mainly from the Miocene, Pliocene until the Pleistocene. Here are some "shabby" finds: (shark and ray teeth) The shark teeth are also very small ... This tooth is with 1.2 cm one of the prettiest: A damaged Geleocerdo: Beside of the shark teeth i also found some fish vertebrates. The biggest one is 1.5 cm long:

Trivia sp. with a length of 1 cm from the beaches near Cadzand. -
I want to share my fossils from a one week tour with you. I was in Cadzand (Netherlands), in Hoevenen (Antwerpen), in Barvaux and also in Eckelsheim (Germany). The most time i was on the beaches in Cadzand. Its just wonderful there and i dont spend my whole time to look for fossils On the beaches near Cadzand i didnt found that much as last year, but i think its still a nice haul. I found many bivalves, some fish vertebra, Gastropods, Balanus sp. and also many bones .... Bivalves: They are very common on some beaches, so i collect only the nicest ones: Glycymeris obovata: Megacardita (Venericor) planicosta: I found also some Pecten (Plural of Pecte ?) Balanus sp.: This fossil is also very common in Cadzand. So here are the best two: Trivia sp. On of my personal favourites are the Trivia sp. Too bad that they are very rare there .... This are all: Detailed:
