@Uncle Siphuncle has a great saying that I think of often - "To the motivated go the spoils". Hi All, I am new to this forum. I am over my head in what is, in my novice opinion, a preponderance of quartz stone tools that go back to the Pleistocene. Among the unverified relics, I have found a variety of bones which appear to have been altered for use as tools. Additionally, they have what appear to be teeth marks at the edges, as if a person was holding them in hand and biting. I wanted to post a pic of a rib that I think belongs to a Camelid. Hi!! I found these lower teeth from a possible member of the Camelidae in Coahuila, México (northern Mexico). They could help me if it is from a Llama (Lama, Hemiauchenia) or a camel (Camelops, Megatylopus, Gigantocamelus)

Hello, I posted this before, but my thread was too disjointed for comfort so I am posting again. I found this bone end (I think it is a tibia) with some other ice age bits and ends and have no idea what it came from. Im pretty sure it is not bovid, from what I am familiar with. Anything could help, and this was found on a riverbed in NE Kansas.

Good afternoon, I found this today in central Texas (Travis county)...the spot was along alongside a creek at some sort of alluvial formation. Is this a horse or camel? Thanks

So Monday my wife told me to go on a fossil trip. Actually she just wanted me out of the house so that she could have some friends over. I ended up picking a river stretch that I had covered twice over the last few months even though I figured it would be thoughly picked over. But it was sunny and 75F which is good even for Texas in January. It started out slow. An armadillo scute. A horse astragalus. And then I found this. I've only found a single camelops upper molar. This is a pair and partial palate.

Good evening, I've found this section a year ago and since then kept it in our garden. I took a second look at it tonight and thought it might be my first camel jaw piece. I found this along a creek in Travis county, thanks

About a year ago I posted pics of a distal camelid cannon bone. http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/48651-cannon-bone/?hl=camelops Now I think I have the proximal end. This piece measures 5.5 inches long and the widest measurement is 2.75 inches. Is it camel? If so, would the size suggest camelops? Thanks.
