    A Sphenopteris to ID

    It's always difficult to ID this fern ,need to verifie,i really think it's a Sphenopteris,from the Westphalian,hard to say more,perhaps somebody could help?

    Carboniferous stem

    first time i see these "spines" on the side of a stem,Lepidodendron or Sigilaria? full of cyperites on the other side,an idea?
  5. Today was another great day huntig for carboniferous plants,with few good surprises

Today i went for my last summer carb hunt,very rainy weather,but few unusual finds Not usual lepidodendron Trigonocarpus Lepidophylum Very big wood very big sigillaria trunk the only fern ,Crossotheca crépini high grade sigillaria Very not usual calamites trunk or stem? with the terminal part (my first like this) And ,to finish,a lepidodendron stem with the jonction part,not common
  7. I made today a new hunt in the Carboniferous of Northern France before the new lockdown . Nice Eusphenopteris Cordaites seeds Neuropteris Calamites stem A nice Pecopteris I Found also a Devonian Rock with a lot of Pelecypods But my target was Carboniferous plants ,a big Lepidodendron Nice Sigillaria NICE EUSPHENOPTERIS

I went yesterday on my fav sites to find new good carboniferous fossils,the weather was great and i made few good finds At first ,i find two very nice and not easy to find Trigonocarpus(most of the times ,it's hard to find one!) I found also a nice Sphenopteris plate(nice colors) And a Neuropteris plate A Lonchopteris sample Probably a very unusual Crossotheca crépini zeiller plate But my best find was (for me)this not common Lepidodendron stem, with leaves

Today,i made my last 2020 carb fossils hunt,the morning was nice on the first site ,but hunters came at 10 and i have to go very fast(they were probably drunk at this time and i didn't want to finish like a rabbit), I had the time to find this nice fern plate (to ID,kind of Sphenopteris i think) This nice Sigillaria trunk And this Neuropteris plate
  10. It was a Rainy and windy carboniferous hunt yesterday.But few nice finds also A t A trigonocarpus A pecopteris Nice Eusphenopteris
  11. I had the time today to make a new visit on the coal heap with few nice Neuropteris,pecopteris lepidodendron and Eusphenopteris finds but on the way back i made a stop in a wine shop where a 80 famous french actor sign is bottles a good way to finish the day

    Carboniferous plants

    Need help to ID this not usual plant from the Westphalian of northern France ,i'm really not sure perhaps Alloiopteris coralloides or Sphenopteris?
