Hello all, my name is Jonah. For Spring break I am going to be near Venice, Florida for a little over a week. I'm posting this to see if anyone would like to hunt fossils in the Arcadia area, or Venice/Caspersan. I have experience in the Peace River and diving Venice. If anyone would like to perhaps join or trade information please pm me. I may be stopping in the panhandle to visit an old friend and hunt there as well. So I'll be equipped with gear for both consolidated and non materials. Perhaps meeting a stranger to share a mutual interest is strange, but heck the hard part was convincing my girlfriend, so here goes Here is where my girlfriend and I will be staying, however we will be traveling over to the Peace River in multiple localities. I also brought a two man dingy for some extra mileage in the river. I also have two shovels not pictured. Some small finds from both Arcadia and Sarasota.

I found this June 13th laying fully uncovered on the sand. The weather was horrible and the tide was very high due to the tropical storm in the Gulf. I’m very new at fossil identification and any help with identifying and how I should preserve it will be very much appreciated.

Found this yesterday in the water at Caspersen Beach, FL. It looks like none of the other sharks’ teeth (or assumed sharks’ teeth). Found using a metal sifter. Any idea on what type it is or age, based on color (not brown or black)?

http://imgur.com/a/avRfx I'm mostly curious of what kind of shark the tooth belonged to! Found it last weekend at Caspersen Beach in Venice, Florida. The biggest tooth I've found so far in 3 weeks of hunting. Hopefully some of you can help identify the other items. • Pictures 1-11 were all found on Caspersen Beach, Venice, Florida. • Pictures 12-15 location found is unknown. • Pictures 16-18 the fossil came from river-rock transported from an unknown location. The potential bone in picture 5-7 has a concave surface, sort of like a ball joint. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
