Found loose and already broken at Cayton Bay Scarborough. Matrix of ooliths about 0.4mm. Grid of 1cm squares Referred to plate 33:2 in British Mesozoic Fossils, Natural History museum, British Museum. Plate Very similar to my find except that the rate of increase in whorl fattening is greater than illustrated. Lateral tubercules correct. However every photo I've seen of M. macrocephalus has no tubercules. Is it what I've found in the book? The book was published in 1975.

I found this object last week near Cayton bay, (Jurassic Coast) UK. It was sticking out of a cliff face. I don't know if it is just a water-worn 'stone' or something more interesting. I have attached several photos from various angles. Would anyone be able to tell me if it is something fossilised or, should it simply be adorning my rockery? Regards, Alan.

Hello, I recently went fossil hunting at Cayton Bay near Scarborough, UK (Part of the Jurassic Coast). I found this (see attached Photos) and was wondering what it might be? The two photos show the fossil from different angles. Any help you could give would be much appreciated. Best regards, Alan.
