Hello everyone, It's been a while since I've started a topic on the forum; but over time, it has occurred to me how many of our forum members have spectacular specimens of Chinese trilobites. I hope to start this thread to showcase and celebrate the amazing trilobite fossils that come from China, contributed by no other than our very own. Chinese trilobites have been relatively underlaid in the trilobite collection world by the Moroccan material and Russian material. But with a jaw-dropping diversity and rarity of trilobites, China's trilobites may make up for the incredible 3-D preservation seen in Moroccan Devonian trilobites and Russian Ordovician trilobites. China's Cambrian trilobites are quite famous and popular, ranging from the god-status trilobites of the Kushan formation in Shandong, to the unique trilobites of the Sandu formation from Guangxi, to the ancient trilobites of the Chengjiang and Guanshan fauna in Yunnan... the list goes on. Perhaps we may even start to hear Chinese Cambrian, Russian Ordovician, American Silurian and Moroccan Devonian in the future amongst trilobite collectors! Regardless, I hope the collectors of the forum would be willing to share their fossils to us, no matter how they are. The more the merrier!

I purchased this trilobite fossil a while back. It was sold as Yinites sp. from the Early Cambrian Hongjingshao formation in China. I tried to both verify the genus and close in a species, but have been unable to do so. All the references to Yinites that I could find were old (circa 1940’s), and therefore I wasn’t able to find any actual literature online. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello all! I just wanted to share a Keichousaurus I got in the mail today. It was an Easter gift to myself. It is an acid prepped specimen. I was a little worried about it but it looks excellent! The only noticeable paint is on the calcite line connecting the neck vertebrae together, which I have no problems with. Otherwise it looks complete, with all of its toes intact, and I wanted to share, because I am excited about it. I included pictures. There are a few tiny teeth in its mouth, but they didn't show up on camera. If you see anything off with it that I haven't noticed, please let me know. Thank you all!

I was shown the photo of a juvenile Keichousaurus from the type locality in Guizhou this morning and was asked to check its authenticity. It looks real at a glance but when I look closer, it looks suspicious. I was told that this is a man-made one. Take a look.

I have seen similar looking Trilobites from China listed as Illaenula vietnamica & Ductina vietnamica (on different websites) Are both these names the same species?

Hi there folks, I'm with some doubts regarding amber again. I've recently bought a set of burmese amber from a seller from China on that auction web site. I feel I paid very little for the set with 20 pieces and random inclusions (really random, there are about five of them that are really bad, but also one piece really good). Can you guys tell me what's an accetable price for a set like that? (I don't know if this kind of thread is allowed here, if not. Please, let me know and I'll delete it) If anyone could PM me I'd like some info on the seller. I'm attaching some pictures of the kind of pieces I got, so you can have an idea if it's real or not. So not too long ago, I acquired a Protoceratops tooth from a German fossil gallery. And I have been looking for more fossils of the species for comparison both in price-range and rarity, but cannot seem to find any other protoceratops fossils anywhere. Does anyone know if these teeth are ever sold online? And have I perhaps made a heck of a buy? I'm not sure if the fossils from the Gobi Desert are rare or just hard to come by, unless you live in Asia. Any information would be appreciated, thanks! (Will put up some pictures of the tooth when I get home later)
