  1. Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me with some fossil identifications. Thanks for any help. First, here is a Green River formation fish plate. I know the fish are Knightia, but I don't know how to differentiate the species. I think they are Knightia eocaena. Can anyone confirm the species? Thanks. Next, here is a shark tooth I found while digging on the Ernst ranch in Bakersfield, California. It is either Carcharodon hastalis or Isurus desori. I'm not great at telling the two apart. Can anyone confirm the species? Thanks.

    Ammonite from Madagascar

Hello. This is the ammonite I have. Are these names Aioloceras besairiei? Are these all the same type? Since I am Japanese, I use Google Translate to write this sentence.

    Ammo Pendent

Got a pretty little ammo pendent yesterday. Funny how I live in Florida but do not own any shell fossils, nor a single sharks tooth. I guess they are just so plentiful around here that I never kept any. Anyhow, back to the pendant. The guy I bought it from had little to no knowledge outside 'it's a shell,it's opalized,it's 5 bucks' So after some personal research I think I have a...... Cleoniceras Cleon Lower Cretaceous Madagascar It's 1 inch at its widest. Now,other than confirmation of ID, I'm wondering what the tiny spiral inside the o

    Is this a Cleoniceras bessairei?

I picked up this ammonite at an out-of-the-way rock shop in Northern California. It is the kind of shop that has been open since the 1960s and never once cleaned, if you know what I mean. The owner had a box of ammonites that had clearly been there for a long time, before the current owner took over. This one looked nice so I bought it. The owner didn't know much about it but he said it came from Morocco. I've done some research and it appears to me that it is a Cleoniceras, which if I understand correctly, would put it from Madagascar, not Morocco. I see from an earlier post about Cleon
