My first fossil to show off on The Fossil Forum is my trilobite, Elrathia kingii. It is mearly the carapace of a shed skin of a juvenile, but I still think it's pretty cool. Luckily, I got these photos before my sisters cat, Nala, got to it and broke it in half. At least it's not shattered I guess. Any way, I hope you guys like my Elrathia kingii. Also, any advice for where I should put my fossils? I have my two trilobites in a rock collection, as well as a Staghorn Coral, I have my sharks teeth it two small boxes, just piled up on top of each other, and I have my fossils from Lake Huron in a bag with some geodes. Any advice on any box or something I should put them in?

Hello guys. I want your opinion on some thing, it's a paleoart idea I call Therizinopteros brazilienensis from the Santana Formation in Brazil. It's part of a late surviving group of Wukongopteroid pterosaurs that survived way into the Early Cretaceous. It was the last and most advanced member, a super predator, a hunter of other, bigger pterosaurs. It went after giants like Tapejara, Anhanguera, even the giant Thalassodromeus! This thing was a monster, and yet it only had a six foot wingspan. The reason why it can take down prey 5 times its size is because its killing method was brutal. There's a reason why it's name means scythe wing from Brazil. It was very fast and maneuverable and could stoop like a falcon. Males had a large aerodynamic crest that was colorful and could be used used for display purposes to attract a mate or to frighten a rival. They ha sharp teeth and large claws, the largest being their thumb claw, or their "killing claw". This claw was their most effective weapon. What they would do, they would fly up to the pterosaur or dive at them, extend their claws, then rip them open. If they killed over the ocean, they would dive in and pull the pterosaur back to shore to eat. they were strong swimmers, comparable to modern seabirds. This pterosaur was a very effective hunter. It's certainly not a friendly animal, but it sure is interesting. I will be posting my paleoart in a day or two when I finish. It's going to be awesome! I hope you guys like it.

Hello all. There are a few fossil finding locations I hope to go to soon. Number 1 on my list is some Cretaceous dig site in South Carolina, probably somewhere near or in a river. I haven't worked out an exact location yet, but I will be going soon. If anyone has any creek, river, or quarry they suggest I should go to, let me know. Number two is Texas. I will be going all around Texas, and possibly to the Grand Canyon. I will look for some creeks or quarries I can go to to look for fossils, presumably before the KPG mass extinction. If anyone has a good fossil finding location, let me know. Last on my list is Lake Huron. I went to Lake Huron over the summer, and while my cousin played in the water, I stayed on the shore to look for fossils with my grandfather, and boy did we find a lot of them! We mostly found shells and corals, but we did find a burrow of one of those coil-shelled worms. I also found a crinoid shell. Next time I go, I hope to find the actual worm shell! A geologist said he found a dinosaur tooth there, but it must have been the tooth of something else. I am also going to other places, but at the moment, I'm not sure where. I will keep you guys updated!

Hello everyone, my name is Cloud the Dinosaur King. I love dinosaurs and other prehistoric reptiles. They are just so facinating and incredible. I don't have any prehistoric reptile fossils, but over the summer, I could get a Coelophysis footprint from a quarry in Virginia. I do have other fossils however, ammonites, sharks teeth and vertebrae, trilobites, a potential anomalocarid, and some shells and coral. I plan to get many more fossils in the future, and hopefully, some prehistoric reptile fossils. I also enjoy paleoart and speculating about how prehistoric animals would have behaved. I hope I can contribute to this forum.
