Coprolite or Iron Concretions?
Dmgs11 posted a topic in Fossil IDHi, Any thoughts on these three? Found in Big Brook, Monmouth county NJ. They were not together. Don't appear they are from a fire. The area has tons of iron concretions, but these seemed to stick out differently. Any thoughts if they may be coprolite?

Muffinsaurus posted a topic in Fossil IDFound this in the creek behind my house in Eastern Kentucky. It's been raining (and flooding) a lot so tons of rocks are being washed out of the hills. I'm uncertain what era this could be from since I'm not exactly sure where it washed out from. The pictures I'm including show it while it was still in the rock and after I removed it. I thought it was made of metal at first, but it isn't magnetic at all, nor is it soft like lead or aluminum. After looking around online the closest thing I could find to it's shape is fish coprolite. Is this coprolite or just some stran

Another Coprolite Quandary: Is this bone imprint diagnostic?
GeschWhat posted a topic in Fossil IDWhile playing with my poo (the fossilized version), I noticed this imprint. It is adjacent to a bone fragment. I'm assuming it is the imprint of a piece that broke away from the bone inclusion. It looks a bit unusual/ornamental, but I am hoping it is recognizable to one of you brilliant bone folks. This is from the Oligocene, Brule Formation, South Dakota. @Carl
